<\/p>\nTFP Bureau, Raipur, September 29, 2025: The long-standing drinking water problem of Diksha Nagar and 13 surrounding settlements in Raipur city is set to end, with the launch of a \u20b919.60 crore drinking water supply project. Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Sao performed the groundbreaking ceremony at Geetanjali Society Garden in Diksha Nagar, marking a major step toward resolving a decades-old issue.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy CM Sao said that providing pure drinking water to every household is a top priority of the state government. He assured residents that the project would deliver a permanent solution to their water woes, adding that development under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai\u2019s leadership is progressing with full commitment. \u201cEvery ward under Raipur Municipal Corporation will receive \u20b950 lakh for development works. The government will leave no shortage of funds for projects that directly impact people\u2019s lives,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
The ambitious project includes the construction of a 200-kiloliter capacity high-level water tank at a cost of \u20b92.37 crore, along with the laying of 40,000 meters of distribution pipelines and installation of raw water pumping systems. Advanced PLC SCADA automation technology will also be deployed to modernize and regulate the supply. Once completed, more than 1,000 households across 13 localities, including Diksha Nagar, will gain access to clean and regular drinking water, benefiting over 5,000 residents.<\/p>\n
Senior leaders present at the event emphasized the transformative impact of the project. MP Brijmohan Agrawal said the water supply initiative is the beginning of a new chapter in Raipur\u2019s development. \u201cWithin two years, every family will have access to clean drinking water. Road expansion and other civic works are also reshaping the city\u2019s identity,\u201d he remarked. Former Minister Rajesh Munat highlighted that the state government is ensuring timely completion of all projects, while Mayor Meenal Choubey described the initiative as a long-awaited relief for residents.<\/p>\n
Public representatives and local citizens expressed gratitude, noting that the project fulfills a key demand that had remained unresolved for years.
