TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 10,2025: The Chhattisgarh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, has approved the procurement of paddy from state farmers at the support price of \u20b93,100 per quintal for the Kharif marketing year 2025\u201326. The decision, taken at the Cabinet meeting held at Mahanadi Bhawan, marks another major step toward strengthening the rural economy and safeguarding farmer interests.<\/p>\n
Paddy procurement will begin across the state from November 15, 2025, and continue until January 31, 2026. More than 2.5 million farmers will benefit under the scheme, with paddy to be purchased up to a limit of 21 quintals per acre.<\/p>\n
To ensure transparency and efficiency in the procurement process, the state government has made farmer registration through e-KYC on the AgriStake portal of the Union Ministry of Agriculture mandatory this year. The registration process will remain open until October 31, 2025.<\/p>\n
A digital crop survey covering 23 lakh hectares has already been completed, enabling online verification of paddy acreage. The combined data from the digital survey and manual girdawari records are being displayed in Gram Sabhas across 20,000 villages since October 2 to maintain full transparency.<\/p>\n
In a move to ease farmer participation, the government has launched online tokenization through the \u201cToken Tuhar Hath\u201d mobile app. This system will allow farmers to generate tokens for selling their paddy on dates convenient to them, thereby eliminating long queues at procurement centers.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet also approved biometric-based verification for paddy procurement to ensure that only genuine farmers sell their produce. To facilitate the process, 2,739 procurement centers have been identified across the state, where administrative officers will be appointed as in-charges to oversee smooth operations.<\/p>\n
To reward efficiency, procurement committees achieving zero dryness in procured paddy will receive an incentive of \u20b95 per quintal. The government has also directed the timely arrangement of new and old jute bags to meet storage and handling needs.<\/p>\n
The Food Department of the Government of India has set a target of 73 lakh metric tonnes of rice from Chhattisgarh for inclusion in the central pool during the current Kharif season.<\/p>\n
For the first time, an Integrated Command and Control Center will be established at the Markfed headquarters to monitor the entire procurement process and prevent paddy recycling. Additional control rooms will also be set up in all districts.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister emphasized timely payment to farmers within 6\u20137 days of procurement, ensuring transparency and accountability at every stage. Special district-level teams will monitor paddy inflow and check illegal transportation from border states.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet has further instructed physical verification of paddy lifting and transportation to maintain efficiency and cost control in logistics.<\/p>\n
