<\/p>\nTFP Bureau, Raipur, October 10 \u2014 In a major step toward transparent and efficient governance, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has launched a new system for timely online disbursement of scholarships and stipends to students from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities, and Economically Weaker Sections. Under this initiative, scholarships and stipends will now be transferred directly to students\u2019 bank accounts on fixed dates in June, September, October, and December each year.<\/p>\n
At a state-level program held at the Secretariat, Mahanadi Bhawan, Chief Minister Sai transferred \u20b984.66 crore online to the bank accounts of 1.98 lakh eligible students studying in various educational institutions, technical and professional courses, and ashram hostels across Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n
Explaining the initiative, Principal Secretary Sonmani Bora said that the new payment system will ease financial burdens on students by ensuring timely scholarship credits during the academic session. Earlier, the scholarships were disbursed once a year, usually in December or February\u2013March.<\/p>\n
Highlighting the details, Bora informed that in the current phase, the Chief Minister transferred \u20b979.27 crore in post-matric scholarships to 1.86 lakh students and \u20b95.38 crore to 12,142 matric-level students. This follows the first phase of the initiative launched on June 10, 2025, when Chief Minister Sai had transferred the first installment of \u20b985 crore to pre-matric hostels and ashrams before the start of the new academic session. The second phase, implemented on June 17, 2025, saw \u20b96.2 crore transferred online to 8,370 students.<\/p>\n
Bora described the new online disbursement mechanism as a reflection of the Chief Minister\u2019s vision of good governance\u2014ensuring accountability, efficiency, and complete transparency in welfare schemes.<\/p>\n
The initiative also covers students pursuing technical and professional education, marking the first time such categories have been integrated into the state\u2019s scholarship framework.<\/p>\n
The event was attended by Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam, Forest and Climate Change Minister Kedar Kashyap, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma, School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, Scheduled Caste Development Minister Guru Khuswant Saheb, and Tourism Minister Rajesh Agarwal. Chief Secretary Subodh Singh and Commissioner of the Tribal, SC, OBC, and Minority Development Department Dr. Saransh Mittal were also present.<\/p>\n
