TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 19, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai reaffirmed the state\u2019s commitment to preserving its vibrant cultural traditions while promoting inclusive development, as he participated in the Sohrai Karma Mahotsav 2025<\/em> organized by the All India Rautia Samaj Vikas Parishad in village Kandora, Jashpur district. The Chief Minister attended the event as the chief guest and inaugurated the newly constructed Rautia Community Hall at Kunkuri, built at a cost of \u20b920 lakh. He also laid the foundation stone for a new Rautia Bhawan in Kandora, to be constructed at an estimated cost of \u20b950 lakh.<\/p>\n

Responding to the community\u2019s request, Chief Minister Sai announced \u20b950 lakh for the construction of a Karma Akhara<\/em>in Kandora and an additional \u20b925 lakh for the approach road to the Rautia Bhawan in Raipur. Paying tribute to the bravery of Rautia martyrs Bakhtar Sai and Mundal Singh, he garlanded their portraits during the event.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sai described the Karma Mahotsav as a reflection of India\u2019s timeless and glorious heritage. \u201cThe Karma Festival binds us to our roots and reminds us to live in harmony with nature. It teaches values of unity, respect, and gratitude,\u201d he said, emphasizing that cultural celebrations such as Ekadashi Karma and Dussehra Karma play a vital role in strengthening social bonds.<\/p>\n

Highlighting his government\u2019s welfare initiatives, Sai noted that Chhattisgarh has swiftly begun implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s guarantees. \u201cIn our very first cabinet meeting, 18 lakh houses were sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Through the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, women are receiving monthly financial support of \u20b91,000. To enhance income opportunities for tendu leaf collectors, we have increased the procurement rate to \u20b95,500 per standard bag,\u201d he said.\"\"<\/p>\n

He also reiterated the government\u2019s goal of transforming Chhattisgarh into a developed state by 2047, aligning with the national vision of Viksit Bharat<\/em>. Urging citizens to support the Vocal for Local<\/em> movement, he said, \u201cBuying indigenous products strengthens both our economy and the hands of our artisans.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the issue of security, the Chief Minister informed that the government\u2019s continuous efforts against Naxalism have shown results, with 210 Naxalites surrendering in the past two days. He further announced that the district would soon see major developments in health and education, including the establishment of a medical college, a naturopathy and physiotherapy center, a government nursing college, and a government physiotherapy college \u2014 initiatives that will create new educational and employment opportunities for local youth.<\/p>\n

In a moment that captured the spirit of the festival, Chief Minister Sai offered prayers at the Karma Pujan site in Ama Bagh and joined traditional Karma dancers in rhythmic celebration, wearing a drum around his neck. His wife, Kaushalya Sai, and family members also participated in the festivities.<\/p>\n

Celebrating the Rautia Community\u2019s Cultural Legacy<\/h4>\n

The Sohrai Karma Festival<\/em> is one of the most important celebrations of the Rautia community, marking the harvest season and expressing gratitude to nature. This year\u2019s celebration in Kandora drew participation from 52 dance troupes representing various districts of Chhattisgarh and neighboring states like Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal. The vibrant performances and traditional music filled the atmosphere with joy and cultural pride.<\/p>\n

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Member of Parliament Radheshyam Rathiya, National President of the All India Rautia Samaj Vikas Parishad O.P. Sai, National Vice President Damodar Singh, National General Secretary Azad Singh, Central Organization Minister Bhuneshwar Kesar, and Central Women Member Uma Devi, along with numerous community representatives and cultural enthusiasts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
