TFP Bureau, <\/i>New Delhi, October 28, 2025: The Ministry of Coal is set to launch the 14th Round of Commercial Coal Mine Auctions<\/strong> on October 29, 2025<\/strong>, in New Delhi, marking another milestone in India\u2019s journey toward a transparent, competitive, and self-reliant coal industry. The event will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy<\/strong>, who will serve as the Chief Guest.<\/p>\n

The commercial auction framework, introduced in 2020 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/strong>, has transformed the coal sector by encouraging private participation, promoting transparency, and enhancing domestic coal availability. Since its inception, the auction process has drawn strong participation from both established mining companies and new entrants, significantly reducing import dependence and advancing the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 14th round will offer a new set of fully explored and partially explored coal blocks under the most liberal and investor-friendly terms to attract diverse stakeholders. This round aims to further ease of doing business, boost domestic coal output, and ensure uninterrupted energy supply for India\u2019s growing economy.<\/p>\n

First-Ever Inclusion of Underground Coal Gasification (UCG)<\/strong>
\nIn a major policy innovation, the Ministry is, for the first time, incorporating provisions for Underground Coal Gasification (UCG)<\/strong> in the auction framework. This move will enable India to utilize deep-seated coal reserves that are otherwise inaccessible through traditional mining. UCG is expected to help reduce dependence on imported natural gas and crude oil while creating new investment opportunities and jobs in the energy and technology sectors.<\/p>\n

Digital Push: Launch of CLAMP and Koyla Shakti Portals<\/strong>
\nAligning with the Digital India<\/strong> vision, the Ministry will also unveil two transformative digital platforms\u2014CLAMP (Coal Land Acquisition, Management, and Payment)<\/strong> and Koyla Shakti Dashboard<\/strong>\u2014to enhance efficiency and accountability in coal governance.<\/p>\n

The CLAMP Portal<\/strong> is designed as a unified digital platform to streamline processes related to land acquisition, compensation, and rehabilitation & resettlement (R&R) in the coal sector. Acting as a centralized repository of land records, it will enable real-time monitoring, ensure transparency in compensation, and improve coordination across coal PSUs, thereby minimizing procedural delays and redundancies.<\/p>\n

The Koyla Shakti Dashboard<\/strong> aims to integrate the entire coal value chain\u2014from mine to market\u2014on a single digital interface. The platform will facilitate seamless coordination between coal producers, railways, ports, and end-users, supporting data-driven decision-making and optimizing logistics and supply chain management. It is expected to become the digital backbone of India\u2019s coal sector<\/strong>, ushering in a new era of transparency and operational excellence.<\/p>\n

Inviting industry leaders, investors, and stakeholders to participate in the launch, the Ministry of Coal reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable mining practices, regulatory reforms, and inclusive growth<\/strong> in line with India\u2019s vision of Viksit Bharat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As the country continues its transition towards cleaner and more efficient energy systems, the Ministry emphasized that these initiatives represent a decisive step toward achieving self-reliance in coal production and ensuring energy security for a rapidly developing India.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
