The Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have already completed matching voter data with the records from the 2003 SIR, covering approximately 71 percent of voters assigned to their respective polling stations.<\/p>\n
According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Chhattisgarh, this process reflects significant progress, given the demographic and geographical changes over the past two decades. Many voters have relocated, and several polling stations have undergone delimitation since 2003. Officials stated that during the ongoing door-to-door verification phase, the voter list matching percentage is expected to increase by another 10\u201315 percent, ensuring more comprehensive coverage and accuracy.<\/p>\n
Notably, nearly 50 percent of Chhattisgarh\u2019s voter base comprises women. Since the last revision, a large number of married women have shifted to new polling areas. The CEO\u2019s office expects that 15\u201320 percent of these women voters will be successfully verified during the current enumeration process. With these additions, the total matching percentage is projected to reach 94\u201395 percent, leaving only a small fraction\u2014around 5\u20136 percent\u2014of voters required to provide documents for verification.<\/p>\n
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has emphasized its commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent revision process, while minimizing inconvenience for citizens. To assist voters, the ECI has activated multiple support channels.
