In Chhattisgarh, the state government has announced a series of programs to commemorate the occasion as part of \u201cNational Unity Day.\u201d Acting on the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Home Department has been designated as the nodal agency for organizing the celebrations. At 10:30 AM on October 31, all government offices, educational institutions, and local bodies across the state will hold a National Unity Pledge ceremony, where officials, employees, students, and citizens will take an oath to uphold the nation\u2019s unity and integrity.![\"\"](\"https:\/\/thefrontpage24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_1836.jpeg\")

To spread awareness about the life, contributions, and vision of Sardar Patel, the state will also host \u201cRun for Unity\u201d events, essay and debate competitions, youth rallies, exhibitions, and public awareness campaigns. These initiatives will continue throughout the year, from October 2025 to October 2026, as part of an extended outreach effort to strengthen the spirit of \u201cEk Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.\u201d<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, in his message, stated that Sardar Patel\u2019s life and work remind citizens that unity is the greatest strength of the nation. He described Patel\u2019s resolve and leadership as instrumental in uniting India after independence, and urged citizens to dedicate themselves to protecting the nation\u2019s unity, integrity, and security.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in Kevadia, Gujarat \u2014 home to the Statue of Unity \u2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the eve of the historic occasion by unveiling and laying foundation stones for development projects worth \u20b91,219 crore. These projects include the Birsa Munda Bhavan, a tribute to the tribal icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda; a residential complex for GSEC and SSNNL employees; the first phase of a new hospitality district; and a state-of-the-art Bonsai Garden.![\"\"](\"https:\/\/thefrontpage24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG_1834-1024x742.jpeg\")

Adding to the momentous celebrations, Shri Modi released a special commemorative coin and postage stamp in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. These releases symbolize the nation\u2019s deep respect for Patel\u2019s monumental role in the political and territorial integration of India following independence.<\/p>\n
During his visit, the Prime Minister also met members of Sardar Patel\u2019s family in Kevadia, describing the interaction as a deeply emotional moment. He later attended a grand cultural programme that artistically depicted Sardar Patel\u2019s life journey\u2014from his leadership during India\u2019s freedom movement to his decisive role in uniting more than 500 princely states into the Indian Union.<\/p>\n
Taking to social media, the Prime Minister shared his reflections on the day\u2019s events, calling the development works a \u201cboost to Kevadia\u2019s infrastructure.\u201d He reiterated that the newly inaugurated facilities would enhance tourism, sustainability, and public amenities in the region surrounding the world\u2019s tallest statue, which itself stands as a towering symbol of national unity.<\/p>\n
