Addressing a large gathering of lawmakers, dignitaries, and citizens, the Prime Minister said the event was deeply personal for him, as he had long-standing emotional ties with the people and soil of Chhattisgarh. \u201cToday marks a golden beginning in Chhattisgarh\u2019s development journey. I have spent many years on this land, learned from its people, and witnessed its transformation. This day fills my heart with pride and gratitude,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Paying tribute to Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Shri Modi said, \u201cChhattisgarh stands today at a new pinnacle of aspiration. On this proud occasion, I bow to Atal ji, the visionary leader whose foresight led to the creation of this state. When he formed Chhattisgarh in 2000, it was not just an administrative decision but the realization of a dream that recognized the soul and potential of this land. Today, as we unveil his statue, we can truly say\u2014Atal ji, your dream is coming true.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister recalled the journey of Chhattisgarh\u2019s democracy\u2014from its first Assembly session at Jashpur Hall, Rajkumar College, to today\u2019s modern, eco-friendly building. He said that while the state began with limited resources, it was driven by limitless dreams and determination. \u201cFrom borrowed rooms to this grand edifice, the journey of Chhattisgarh\u2019s democracy is the story of its people\u2019s willpower and vision,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
Describing the new building as a \u201cpilgrimage site of democracy,\u201d the Prime Minister said every pillar symbolizes transparency, every corridor embodies accountability, and every word spoken within will shape the state\u2019s future. The Prime Minister lauded the architectural design of the new complex, noting its reflection of Chhattisgarh\u2019s rich heritage and artistry. \u201cI noticed glimpses of Bastar art in the Assembly\u2019s design. The walls carry the message of Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji, teaching inclusivity and respect for all; every doorway reflects the warmth of Mata Shabari, every chair echoes Sant Kabir\u2019s truth and fearlessness, and the foundation embodies Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya Ji\u2019s principle\u2014\u2018Nara Seva, Narayan Seva\u2019,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He reiterated that \u201cIndia is the Mother of Democracy,\u201d highlighting that India\u2019s tribal communities have preserved democratic traditions for centuries. Referring to Bastar\u2019s ancient Muriya Darbar<\/em>, he called it a \u201cliving example of grassroots democracy,\u201d and expressed satisfaction that its spirit has been honored in the new Assembly\u2019s design.<\/p>\n Prime Minister Modi said India is now moving forward with the perfect balance of heritage and modernity. \u201cToday, the nation is advancing by embracing both tradition and development. The same spirit is reflected in this Assembly, where the modern blends seamlessly with the cultural essence of Chhattisgarh,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Reflecting on governance, the Prime Minister emphasized that the true greatness of a legislative body lies not in its architecture but in the welfare-oriented decisions taken within it. \u201cGovernance should neither be absent nor excessive. It must be balanced, humane, and rooted in the people\u2019s needs,\u201d he said, underlining the principle of \u2018Nagarik Devo Bhava\u2019<\/em>\u2014citizens are divine.<\/p>\n Speaking on India\u2019s journey from \u201cDev to Desh\u201d and \u201cRam to Rashtra,\u201d the Prime Minister said Lord Shri Ram\u2019s ideals continue to guide good governance. \u201cThis is the maternal land of Lord Ram, and the nephew of this soil has always inspired us to uphold truth, service, and justice. The vision of \u2018Ram to Rashtra\u2019 means a nation free of poverty and discrimination, where every citizen lives with dignity and opportunity,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n Touching upon national security and development, the Prime Minister noted, \u201cIndia is moving towards the eradication of Naxalism and Maoist terrorism. The nation is proud of its success in restoring peace in regions once affected by violence. Operation Sindoor was a testament to India\u2019s will to defeat forces of terror.\u201d<\/p>\n He praised the people of Chhattisgarh for their resilience and progress over the last 25 years. \u201cOnce known for backwardness and conflict, Chhattisgarh is now a model of prosperity, security, and stability. The Bastar Olympics are being talked about across the country\u2014a symbol of how peace and progress have taken firm root,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n Looking ahead, the Prime Minister said Chhattisgarh\u2019s Silver Jubilee marks the beginning of a new era. \u201cAs we move towards our national goal of a developed India by 2047, Chhattisgarh will play a pivotal role. Let this Assembly set an example of policy excellence and vibrant democratic debate that inspires every other state,\u201d he said. Concluding his address, the Prime Minister urged all legislators and citizens to uphold their democratic duties with devotion and integrity. \u201cThis Vidhansabha is not merely a place for lawmaking\u2014it is a centre for shaping the destiny of Chhattisgarh.
