TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 6, 2025: Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, marked the 25th Foundation Day of Chhattisgarh with a vibrant series of events blending literature, art, and culture. The celebrations, held throughout the week, culminated in a grand cultural evening titled \u201cCG@25,\u201d dedicated to the State\u2019s rich heritage and 25-year journey of growth and identity.<\/p>\n
Organised jointly by the Student Bar Association\u2019s Learning Resources Committee (LRC) and the Cultural Committee of HNLU, the festivities brought together students, faculty, and staff in a collective tribute to Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav. The celebrations sought to highlight how academic institutions can play a pivotal role in preserving and promoting cultural awareness while fostering intellectual curiosity.<\/p>\n
Books and Art Exhibition Brings Chhattisgarh\u2019s Heritage to Campus
\nThe week began with a special Books and Art Exhibition held on November 1 at the University Library, transforming the academic space into a vibrant showcase of Chhattisgarh\u2019s artistic and cultural identity. Curated under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vishnu Konoorayar, Faculty Convener, LRC, the exhibition featured paintings and artworks by local artists portraying the tribal life, folk traditions, and cultural diversity of the State.<\/p>\n
A distinctive collection of books on display explored themes ranging from traditional cuisine and handicrafts to regional festivals such as Bastar Dussehra, offering visitors an immersive insight into the everyday life and rituals of Chhattisgarh. The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRTI), Nava Raipur.<\/p>\n
The event was inaugurated by Hon\u2019ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan, along with Registrar Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava and faculty members. Commending the initiative, Prof. (Dr.) Vivekanandan described the exhibition as a meaningful bridge between academia and culture, saying it allowed students to appreciate the roots and rhythms of their State beyond textbooks.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that such initiatives strengthen students\u2019 sense of identity and belonging, encouraging them to explore the intersections between knowledge and culture. Students responded enthusiastically, calling the exhibition a refreshing and inspiring experience. Many noted that it was the first time the University Library had hosted a cultural exhibition to commemorate Chhattisgarh Foundation Day, marking a milestone in HNLU\u2019s engagement with local heritage.<\/p>\n

\nContinuing the Rajyotsav festivities, HNLU hosted a special cultural evening titled \u201cCG@25\u201d on November 2, 2025. The event began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Registrar Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, who spoke about the parallel journeys of Chhattisgarh and HNLU over the past 25 years. \u201cChhattisgarh feels like home \u2014 a place where community, culture, and learning thrive together,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ankit Singh, Faculty Convener of the Cultural Committee, highlighted the significance of Naya Raipur as a symbol of progress and sustainability and praised the students\u2019 enthusiasm in making the celebration a success.<\/p>\n
The cultural evening offered a rich blend of performances that paid homage to Chhattisgarh\u2019s traditions while addressing contemporary social themes. The student group \u201cMore Maati ke Rang\u201d enthralled the audience with a traditional folk dance celebrating the rhythm and colors of rural life. The Legal Aid and Social Services Committee, under the guidance of Dr. Kaumudi Challa, staged a thought-provoking skit titled \u201cSannata Ghar Ka,\u201d focusing on issues such as domestic violence and substance abuse \u2014 merging art with social responsibility.<\/p>\n
Adding a poetic touch to the evening, student poet Nomesh Rawte recited his original composition \u201cChhattisgariya Sable Badiya,\u201d capturing the essence of the State\u2019s pride and resilience. The Literary and Debating Committee further engaged the audience through \u201cRajyotsav,\u201d an interactive quiz celebrating facts about the eight Indian states that share November 1 as their formation day.<\/p>\n
The event concluded with an address by Mr. Ashutosh Aahire, who encouraged students to carry forward the spirit of inclusivity, pride, and cultural awareness. He remarked that HNLU\u2019s commitment to holistic learning is reflected in its ability to celebrate not just academic excellence but also the human stories, traditions, and creativity that define society.<\/p>\n
