<\/p>\nTFP Bureau, <\/i>Luanda\/New Delhi, November 9, 2025: President Droupadi Murmu began her State Visit to Angola on Sunday, marking the first visit by an Indian Head of State to the southern African nation. She arrived in Luanda on November 8, accompanied by Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Railways V. Somanna and Members of Parliament Parbhubhai Vasava and D.K. Aruna. She was received at the Luanda International Airport by Angola\u2019s Minister of External Relations, Tete Antonio.<\/p>\n
President Murmu\u2019s official engagements commenced today at the Presidential Palace, where she was accorded a ceremonial welcome and guard of honour by Angolan President Jo\u00e3o Manuel Gon\u00e7alves Louren\u00e7o. The two leaders held a one-to-one meeting followed by delegation-level talks covering a wide spectrum of bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n
Highlighting the longstanding partnership between the two countries, President Murmu said India and Angola share \u201cmutual trust, respect and a shared vision for the prosperity of our peoples.\u201d She commended Angola\u2019s developmental initiatives aimed at accelerating economic growth and improving the quality of life for its citizens.<\/p>\n
The leaders noted the strong energy trade partnership, with Angola playing a key role in India\u2019s energy security. They agreed on the need to diversify trade and investment into new sectors including technology, agriculture, health, defence, infrastructure, and people-to-people exchanges. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation within the framework of the India\u2013Africa Forum Summit.![\"\"](\"https:\/\/thefrontpage24.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_2007-1-1024x683.jpeg\")

Two Memorandums of Understanding\u2014one on cooperation in fisheries, aquaculture and marine resources, and another on consular matters\u2014were exchanged during the meeting. President Murmu welcomed Angola\u2019s decision to join the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) and the Global Biofuels Alliance (GBA), initiatives led by India to promote wildlife conservation and clean energy solutions.<\/p>\n
Both Presidents delivered statements to the media following their discussions. President Louren\u00e7o later hosted a banquet lunch in honour of President Murmu at the Presidential Palace.<\/p>\n
