TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 15, 2025: \u00a0Students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in Chhattisgarh delivered an outstanding performance at the 4th National KIDA Competition 2025, securing second place in the country. The national event, held in Sundargarh, Odisha from November 11 to 15, saw participation from nearly 7,000 athletes across India.<\/p>\n
Chhattisgarh fielded a strong contingent with 516 teams and 466 student participants from 75 EMRS institutions, all selected through school, district, divisional, and state-level trials. Their impressive display placed the state among the top performers in the national sporting arena.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai congratulated the students, applauding their dedication and hard work. He said the achievement reflects the state government\u2019s continuous initiatives to strengthen tribal education and sports infrastructure, while also motivating young athletes to pursue excellence. He extended warm wishes to all team members, appreciating their spirited effort and national-level success.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister emphasised that the government is committed to expanding sports facilities, enhancing coaching systems, and improving training infrastructure in residential schools so that tribal students receive the best opportunities to develop their potential. He expressed gratitude to the students, coaches, school managements, and parents for their contributions in helping young athletes perform with distinction on the national stage.<\/p>\n
Chhattisgarh\u2019s performance was marked by an impressive medal tally: 162 medals, including 55 gold, 43 silver, and 64 bronze. Students excelled in multiple disciplines\u2014winning 10 gold, 9 silver and 7 bronze medals in swimming; 7 gold medals each in wrestling and athletics; 5 gold medals each in taekwondo and archery; and 4 gold medals each in judo and badminton.<\/p>\n
At the closing ceremony, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi and Union Minister Jual Oram presented trophies to the Chhattisgarh team, acknowledging their achievements and sportsmanship.<\/p>\n
The state currently has more than 27,300 students enrolled in 75 Eklavya Model Residential Schools, which focus on quality education and the holistic mental and physical development of tribal youth. Ongoing efforts by the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department have enabled these students to shine at national competitions, bringing pride to Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n
