<\/p>\nTFP Bureau,<\/i>Raipur, December 1, 2025: The Chhattisgarh Government has launched an ambitious urban transformation initiative under the Mukhyamantri Nagarotthan Yojana, aimed at redesigning and modernising the state\u2019s urban centres. In its first phase, the scheme has been rolled out across all 14 Municipal Corporations, marking a major push toward creating sustainable, accessible and people-centric urban spaces.<\/p>\n
Following approval from Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Shri Arun Sao, 26 major urban development projects worth Rs. 429.45 crore have been sanctioned across 13 Municipal Corporations. These projects include major roadworks, riverfront development, sports complexes, hi-tech bus stands, water supply upgrades, city beautification works, and the development of mobility corridors and public parks.<\/p>\n
A financial provision of Rs. 500 crore has been earmarked for the scheme in the State Budget for FY 2025\u201326. Work orders have already been issued for five projects, and foundation stones have been laid for five more, signalling the rapid pace at which the scheme is being implemented.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the Mukhyamantri Nagarotthan Yojana will \u201cgive a new face and spirit to urban Chhattisgarh,\u201d emphasising that the government\u2019s priority is to build modern, beautiful and citizen-friendly cities rooted in sustainability. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao added that the scheme\u2019s focus on \u201cliveability and ease of living\u201d will help set new benchmarks for urban development in the state.<\/p>\n
Comprehensive Urban Transformation Across Municipal Corporations<\/strong><\/p>\n The scheme includes a range of city-specific projects:<\/p>\n Raipur Municipal Corporation (Rs. 91.27 crore)<\/strong> Raigarh Municipal Corporation (Rs. 64.66 crore)<\/strong> Bilaspur Municipal Corporation (Rs. 57.92 crore)<\/strong> Korba Municipal Corporation (Rs. 36.55 crore)<\/strong> Dhamtari Municipal Corporation (Rs. 24.64 crore)<\/strong> Jagdalpur Municipal Corporation (Rs. 19.95 crore)<\/strong> Birgaon Municipal Corporation (Rs. 24.75 crore)<\/strong> Chirmiri Municipal Corporation (Rs. 14.84 crore)<\/strong> Ambikapur Municipal Corporation (Rs. 13.99 crore)<\/strong> Durg Municipal Corporation (Rs. 9.84 crore)<\/strong> Bhilai-Charoda Municipal Corporation (Rs. 29.43 crore)<\/strong> Bhilai Municipal Corporation (Rs. 24.30 crore)<\/strong> Risali Municipal Corporation (Rs. 17.33 crore)<\/strong> Robust Monitoring Mechanism<\/strong><\/p>\n Every Nagarotthan project will be monitored by a district-level committee chaired by the Collector. The Municipal Commissioner will serve as Member-Secretary, while Executive Engineers from PWD and PHED will serve as technical members to ensure timely completion and strict quality standards.<\/p>\n A Vision for Modern and Inclusive Urban Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n The Mukhyamantri Nagarotthan Yojana encompasses a wide range of urban interventions\u2014from major mobility corridors and bypass roads to riverfronts, sports complexes, integrated solid waste management systems, auditoriums, and green spaces.
