TFP Bureau, Raipur, December,13,2025: In a major step towards strengthening digital governance and administrative efficiency, the Chhattisgarh government has announced that the e-Office system will become mandatory across all government departments, offices and institutions from January 1, 2026. The decision is aimed at ensuring a fully paperless, transparent and time-bound system of file movement and official communication throughout the state administration .<\/p>\n
According to the official directive, all government work related to noting, drafting, file processing, approvals and inter-departmental correspondence will be carried out exclusively through the e-Office platform. The move is expected to significantly reduce delays, improve accountability and bring uniformity in administrative procedures at the Secretariat, directorates, district offices and subordinate offices.<\/p>\n
Senior officials said that the mandatory adoption of e-Office marks a decisive shift from traditional manual file systems to a technology-driven governance model. The platform enables real-time tracking of files, digital signatures, secure document storage and seamless coordination between departments, thereby minimizing the scope for procedural bottlenecks and loss of records.<\/p>\n
The government has directed all departments to ensure full preparedness ahead of the January 1, 2026 deadline. This includes completing necessary infrastructure upgrades, ensuring adequate availability of hardware and internet connectivity, and training officers and staff in the effective use of the e-Office system. Departments have also been instructed to migrate pending and active files to the digital platform in a phased and systematic manner.<\/p>\n
Officials noted that the compulsory implementation of e-Office aligns with the state\u2019s broader vision of good governance, ease of administration and environmental sustainability by substantially reducing paper consumption. The system is also expected to enhance transparency, as every action taken on a file is digitally recorded and traceable.<\/p>\n
The order further emphasizes that exceptions to manual processing will be permitted only under extraordinary circumstances and with due authorization. Regular monitoring and review mechanisms will be put in place to ensure compliance and smooth implementation across all levels of administration.<\/p>\n
