<\/p>\nTFP Bureau, Raipur, December 17, 2025: The Chhattisgarh government\u2019s forward-looking Naxal Rehabilitation Policy is showing tangible results on the ground, offering surrendered Maoists in Sukma district a dignified pathway back into mainstream society. Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, the district administration has rolled out a focused rehabilitation initiative aimed at social inclusion, skill development and self-reliance.<\/p>\n
Under the programme, 100 surrendered Maoists were provided with tools to rebuild their lives. Of them, 75 youths received advanced 5G smartphones, while 25 were given employment-oriented mason (rajmistri) kits to support livelihood generation in the construction sector. The initiative was implemented at the Naxal Rehabilitation Centre in Sukma under the supervision of Collector Devesh Kumar Dhruv and Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan.<\/p>\n
Officials said the smartphones\u2014Samsung Galaxy M06 5G handsets equipped with modern features\u2014will help rehabilitated youths access digital education, skill development platforms, government welfare schemes and information resources. The mason kits, meanwhile, are intended to encourage self-employment and create a skilled workforce for local development projects, including housing schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana\u2013Gramin.<\/p>\n
The district administration emphasised that rehabilitation is not being confined to financial assistance alone, but is being linked with dignity, confidence and long-term self-reliance. By combining digital connectivity with vocational tools, the government aims to open new avenues in online training, modern agriculture, small enterprises and other self-employment opportunities for surrendered individuals.<\/p>\n
Rehabilitated youths shared positive experiences of their transition. Podium Bhima of Polampalli, who was associated with the organisation for nearly three decades, said he is now receiving proper housing, food and training, including skills in masonry, electrical work and mechanics. Muchaki Ranvati of Puvarti, formerly an ACM member, said rehabilitation enabled her to reunite with her family, acquire sewing and masonry skills, and even win first prize at a divisional-level Bastar Olympics event.<\/p>\n
Ganga Vetti of Dabbamarka said the support extended by the administration has boosted her confidence and provided a safer, more dignified life. She has also been enrolled for key documents and welfare schemes, including Aadhaar, Ayushman Bharat, ration and job cards.<\/p>\n
