TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 7, 2026: Reaffirming its commitment to good governance, transparency and efficiency, the Chhattisgarh government has intensified its focus on digital administration under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai. As part of this initiative, the General Administration Department conducted an e-Office performance evaluation of officers posted at the Mahanadi Bhavan Secretariat for November 2025, recognising outstanding performers for their efficiency and timely disposal of work.<\/p>\n
In a formal ceremony held on January 6 at the fifth-floor auditorium of Mahanadi Bhavan, Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel felicitated officers who demonstrated exceptional performance on the e-Office platform. Congratulating the awardees, he encouraged all officers to further strengthen speed, transparency and a results-oriented work culture, stating that digital systems are central to modern, citizen-centric governance.<\/p>\n
The e-Office evaluation is aimed at institutionalising transparency, accountability and efficiency in government functioning. Based entirely on official data generated through the e-Office system, the assessment focused on workload management, prompt file disposal and overall efficiency during the evaluation period. The initiative also provides officers with opportunities for self-assessment and fosters healthy competition among departments, ultimately improving service delivery to citizens.<\/p>\n
The evaluation was carried out separately across different cadres, including Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary and Section Officer. Officers who were recognised for exemplary performance included Jayshree Jain (Joint Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department), Gajpal Singh Sikarwar (Joint Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department), Bhupendra Singh Rajput (Joint Secretary, Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department), Vijay Kumar Chaudhary (Deputy Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department), Rahul Kumar (Deputy Secretary, Law and Legislative Affairs Department), Dr Renuka Srivastava (Deputy Secretary, Water Resources Department), Ran Bahadur Gyawali (Under Secretary, Law and Legislative Affairs Department), Arun Kumar Mishra (Under Secretary, Law and Legislative Affairs Department), Puran Lal Sahu (Under Secretary, Home Department), Maniram Ratre (Section Officer, Urban Administration and Development Department), Mahesh Kumar (Section Officer, Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department), and Nagarajan (Section Officer, Home Department).<\/p>\n
Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel said the evaluation system would serve as a strong tool for positive motivation, enhancing job satisfaction, accountability and discipline among officers. He announced that e-Office performance reviews would now be conducted every month to ensure sustained efficiency and continuous improvement.<\/p>\n
He further revealed that the government is preparing to introduce an attendance-based reward system to promote punctuality and regular office attendance. In addition, a \u201cWall of Fame\u201d highlighting high-performing officers will be displayed on the General Administration Department\u2019s website and on digital screens within the ministry premises to publicly recognise excellence.<\/p>\n
Officials said the initiative reflects the state government\u2019s broader vision under Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai to make governance faster, more transparent and outcome-driven.
