Anti-narcotics task forces, Special Operations Group, flight training institute, startup policy and cloud-first governance among major decisions taken at Mahanadi Bhavan meeting.<\/em><\/h4>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 4, 2026: The Chhattisgarh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, on Tuesday approved a series of far-reaching decisions aimed at strengthening internal security, boosting employment and innovation, improving urban governance, and accelerating digital and infrastructure development across the state. The decisions were taken at a meeting held at the Mahanadi Bhavan Secretariat.<\/p>\n

In a significant move to curb drug abuse, the Cabinet approved the creation of 100 new posts in the main budget for the financial year 2025\u201326 to form District-Level Anti-Narcotics Task Forces in 10 key districts\u2014Raipur, Mahasamund, Bilaspur, Durg, Bastar, Surguja, Kabirdham, Jashpur, Rajnandgaon and Korba. The specialised task forces will focus on prevention, surveillance and coordinated action against narcotics trafficking, particularly in vulnerable regions.<\/p>\n

Strengthening the state\u2019s preparedness against major security threats, the Cabinet also approved 44 new posts for the formation of a Special Operations Group (SOG) under the Special Branch of the Police Headquarters. The SOG will function as a rapid-response unit to immediately reach the site of serious or sudden incidents, neutralise terrorist threats and control critical law-and-order situations. The unit will comprise specially trained personnel equipped to handle high-risk operations.<\/p>\n

In a major boost to aviation-related employment and skill development, the Cabinet approved guidelines for establishing Flight Training Organizations (FTOs) at selected airports and airstrips across the state. Under this decision, a dedicated FTO will be set up in Chhattisgarh through private participation to provide pilot training facilities. The move is expected to cater to the rising demand in the aviation sector, generate employment for youth and facilitate allied activities such as aircraft recycling, helicopter bunking and aero sports.<\/p>\n

To promote entrepreneurship and innovation, the Cabinet approved the Chhattisgarh Innovation and Startup Promotion Policy 2025\u201326. The policy aims to strengthen the startup ecosystem by supporting incubators, startups and associated stakeholders, positioning the state as a leading innovation hub. The policy is also expected to improve Chhattisgarh\u2019s ranking in the State Startup Ranking released by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), thereby enhancing the state\u2019s investment appeal.<\/p>\n

Addressing long-pending urban civic issues, the Council of Ministers decided to transfer 35 completed residential colonies developed by the Chhattisgarh Housing Board and the Raipur Development Authority to the respective municipal corporations and municipalities. These colonies include open plots, parks and public facilities, while saleable residential, commercial and semi-public properties will remain excluded. The decision will ensure better delivery of basic amenities such as water supply, roads, electricity and sanitation, and will relieve residents from the burden of double payments\u2014property tax to urban local bodies and maintenance charges to development authorities.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet further approved the construction of a large multi-storey government office complex in Naya Raipur Atal Nagar by the Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority. The building will house government departments and corporation offices, ensuring optimal utilisation of land and improved administrative coordination.<\/p>\n

To accelerate planned development in heritage and riverine zones, the Cabinet authorised District Collectors to allocate government land in the Sirpur and Arpa regions. The decision supports the objectives of the Sirpur Special Area Development Authority and the Arpa Special Area Development Authority, which focus on holistic and planned development of these areas. Considering the financial constraints of the authorities, government land will be allocated at a nominal premium of Re.1 along with ground rent, enabling faster implementation of master plans and development projects.<\/p>\n

In a major digital governance initiative, the Cabinet approved the implementation of the \u201cChhattisgarh Cloud First Policy\u201d proposed by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology. Under the policy, all state government departments, undertakings and autonomous bodies will procure cloud services only from MeitY-approved providers or secure data centres located in India. Migration of low-priority applications and archived data will be completed by 2027\u201328, while high-priority services will move to the cloud by 2029\u201330. All new applications will be developed using cloud-native technologies, ensuring cost efficiency, enhanced cybersecurity, disaster resilience and round-the-clock citizen services.<\/p>\n

To bridge the digital divide, especially in remote and Left-Wing Extremism-affected areas, the Cabinet approved the Mobile Tower Scheme for expanding mobile connectivity across the state. The scheme will simplify and fast-track permissions for installing mobile towers in uncovered settlements. Improved digital connectivity is expected to strengthen e-governance, enhance delivery of welfare schemes such as PDS and DBT, improve access to health and education services, and bolster security and emergency response systems like Dial 112.<\/p>\n

Collectively, the Cabinet decisions reflect the state government\u2019s focus on inclusive development, robust security, technological advancement and improved quality of life for citizens across Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
