Athletes secure top finishes in Raipur competition, highlighting inclusive workplace culture and growing opportunities beyond office roles<\/em><\/h4>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 27,2026: Demonstrating that inclusion can translate into achievement beyond the workplace, transgender employees of Bharat Aluminium Company<\/strong> delivered standout performances at a national-level sports competition, earning top positions and praise for their determination, confidence and sporting spirit.<\/p>\n

The event was organised by Mithwa Sankalp Samithi<\/strong> with support from the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment<\/strong> and held at Swami Vivekanand Kota Stadium<\/strong>. More than 300 participants from eight states competed in multiple track and field events, providing a national platform for transgender athletes to showcase their abilities.<\/p>\n

Among the standout performers was Ayesha<\/strong>, a security guard at BALCO, who clinched first place in the 400-metre race. She said the competition meant more than winning medals. For her, stepping onto the track represented visibility, confidence and a sense of belonging that transcended labels and job roles. She noted that such platforms help individuals recognise their potential beyond perceived limitations.<\/p>\n

Another employee, Kuleshwar<\/strong>, secured second runner-up position in the 100-metre sprint. He credited the company\u2019s internal sports initiatives for building confidence and fostering teamwork. According to him, activities such as the BALCO Premier League<\/strong> and other in-house tournaments create an environment where employees interact freely and feel accepted through participation rather than judged by identity.<\/p>\n

Alka Nagarwade<\/strong>, also working as a security guard, finished third in the 800-metre race. She said participating in competitions both inside and outside the organisation has strengthened her resilience and self-belief. The encouragement she received to train and compete, she added, has helped her embrace challenges with confidence and enjoy every moment on the track.<\/p>\n

Company officials said these achievements reflect a broader people-centric approach that promotes engagement, equality and personal growth. They emphasised that inclusion is most meaningful when employees feel respected, valued and actively involved in shared experiences. Sports programmes, they noted, serve as powerful tools for building mutual respect, collaboration and confidence among individuals from diverse backgrounds.<\/p>\n

Through structured tournaments in cricket, badminton, volleyball and open sports platforms, the organisation encourages employees to step beyond routine responsibilities and rediscover their potential. The recent success of its transgender staff at the national event, officials said, symbolises not only sporting excellence but also the emergence of a workplace culture that supports dignity, participation and equal opportunity for all.<\/p>\n

Observers at the event remarked that such performances send a strong message about the importance of inclusive employment practices and community support systems.
