Ganesh Shankar Mishra Assumes Charge as Vice-Chairman; Focus on Vision 2047 and Evidence-Based Policy Planning<\/em><\/h4>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 5,2026: The Chhattisgarh government on Thursday emphasised the importance of long-term, evidence-based planning for the state\u2019s future as Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai<\/strong> attended a programme marking the assumption of charge by Ganesh Shankar Mishra<\/strong> as the Vice-Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Rajya NITI Aayog. The ceremony was held at NITI Bhavan in Nava Raipur in the presence of ministers, legislators and senior officials.<\/p>\n

Congratulating Mishra on his new responsibility, the Chief Minister said the Rajya NITI Aayog will play a crucial role in shaping Chhattisgarh\u2019s development trajectory by providing strategic guidance, policy inputs and coordinated planning across government departments. He noted that the institution would help formulate long-term development strategies based on data, research and ground realities.<\/p>\n

Sai said the Rajya NITI Aayog would function as an important policy think tank for the state government, helping address emerging challenges and ensuring balanced and sustainable development across sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and employment.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the broader national vision, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/strong>, India is steadily progressing toward the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. In alignment with this national objective, the Chhattisgarh government has also prepared its Vision Document 2047<\/strong>, outlining a comprehensive roadmap for the state\u2019s long-term development and economic growth.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that the Prime Minister\u2019s decision to replace the Planning Commission with NITI Aayog marked a major shift toward cooperative federalism and forward-looking governance. According to the Chief Minister, initiatives such as the Aspirational Districts Programme<\/strong> have brought significant improvements in backward regions across the country, including districts of Chhattisgarh that were once lagging in development indicators.\"\"<\/p>\n

Sai said one of the key strengths of the NITI Aayog model is its focus on planning based on the real needs of individual regions rather than a uniform approach. Following the same principle, Rajya NITI Aayogs have been established in several states to provide policy direction and strengthen state-level development planning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Chhattisgarh government is committed to accelerating development through good governance, transparency and public participation,\u201d he said, adding that the state would actively consider and implement constructive recommendations received from the Rajya NITI Aayog.<\/p>\n

Expressing confidence in Mishra\u2019s administrative experience and policy expertise, the Chief Minister said the institution would gain renewed direction and momentum under his leadership. He added that the Vice-Chairman\u2019s guidance would be valuable in designing innovative development strategies and strengthening the state\u2019s economic and social progress.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, newly appointed Vice-Chairman Ganesh Shankar Mishra<\/strong> said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sai, Chhattisgarh is steadily advancing on the path of inclusive development. He said the Rajya NITI Aayog would work collectively with various departments and stakeholders to design forward-looking policies that promote sustainable growth, strengthen governance systems and improve the quality of life for citizens.<\/p>\n

Mishra also emphasised the need for integrated planning, innovation in public policy and close coordination between the government, experts and local communities to achieve the vision of a prosperous and developed Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n

Among those present at the event were Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma<\/strong>, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap<\/strong>, MLAs Lata Usendi<\/strong> and Amar Agrawal<\/strong>, Dhamtari Mayor Ramu Rohra<\/strong>, State Policy Commission Member Dr. K. Subrahmanyam<\/strong>, Member Secretary Ashish Bhatt<\/strong>, Secretary Bhuvnesh Yadav<\/strong>, along with several senior officials and dignitaries.<\/p>\n
