Artists and communities from five states to participate; tribal attire show, painting festival and craft \u2018haat\u2019 among key attractions<\/em><\/h4>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 12, 2026: A two-day cultural festival titled \u2018Adi Parab 2026 \u2013 From Tradition to Identity\u2019 will be organised on March 13 and 14 at the campus of the Tribal Research and Training Institute in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar to celebrate and showcase the rich tribal heritage of Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n

The event is being organised by the Tribal Research and Training Institute under the Tribal Development Department of the state government with support from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The festival is being held in line with the vision and guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to provide a national platform for promoting the traditions, culture and artistic heritage of tribal communities.<\/p>\n

Officials said the event will bring together representatives of 43 tribal communities from Chhattisgarh along with artists and cultural groups from neighbouring states including Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra and Jharkhand.<\/p>\n

The festival aims to promote tribal identity, preserve traditional knowledge systems and highlight the cultural diversity of tribal societies. Artists, artisans, scholars and community representatives will participate in the programme, presenting various aspects of tribal life, including folk traditions, traditional crafts, art forms and social customs.<\/p>\n

One of the main attractions of the event will be the \u201cAdi-Paridhan Tribal Attire Show\u201d, which will showcase the traditional costumes and ornaments of tribal communities. The show will be organised on March 13 from 10:30 am to 8 pm and again on March 14 from 4 pm to 8 pm.<\/p>\n

For the first time, the traditional attire and distinctive cultural features of 43 tribal communities of Chhattisgarh will be displayed on a single platform. Organisers said the presentation will help highlight the diversity and uniqueness of tribal dress traditions and their cultural significance.<\/p>\n

Another highlight of the festival will be \u201cAdi Rang \u2013 Tribal Painting Festival\u201d, where artists will display traditional and contemporary tribal painting styles. Visitors will be able to witness live demonstrations and exhibitions of artwork inspired by tribal themes, folklore and nature.<\/p>\n

The event will also feature \u201cAdi Haat \u2013 Tribal Craft Fair\u201d, where traditional handicrafts, forest produce and locally made products from tribal communities will be displayed and made available for sale. The craft fair aims to provide market opportunities for tribal artisans and encourage preservation of traditional craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

Organisers said the festival will also include cultural performances, exhibitions and interactive sessions that will give visitors an opportunity to experience the vibrant traditions and artistic expressions of tribal communities.<\/p>\n

Through events such as Adi Parab, the state government aims to strengthen awareness about tribal heritage and promote cultural exchange among different communities.
