CM prays for peace and prosperity of Chhattisgarh; highlights state\u2019s spiritual legacy and welfare initiatives<\/em><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 10,2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday attended the ongoing Shrimad Bhagavat Katha<\/em> at the Shri Ram Temple complex on VIP Road in the state capital and offered prayers for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n

The spiritual discourse, being delivered by noted preacher Himanshu Krishna Bhardwaj from the Vyas Peeth<\/em>, has drawn large gatherings of devotees since it began on April 6 and will continue until April 12. The Chief Minister listened with deep reverence to the narration of episodes from the Shrimad Bhagavat<\/em>, including the childhood leelas<\/em> of Lord Krishna such as the Makhan-chori<\/em> episode, which symbolises divine innocence and devotion.<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Sai said that the core message of the Shrimad Bhagavat<\/em> is that \u201cwork is true worship.\u201d He emphasised that every individual should discharge his or her duties with honesty, dedication and a spirit of service. \u201cHuman life becomes meaningful only when we remain steadfast on the path of righteousness and perform our responsibilities sincerely,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister offered floral tributes and performed rituals at the temple, later participating in the Aarti<\/em> and worship ceremony of Lord Banke Bihari Lal amid devotional chants and hymns.<\/p>\n

Human Life is Precious, Service is Supreme<\/h3>\n

In his address, Sai described human life as rare and invaluable. He urged people to live not merely for themselves but for the welfare of others, stating that service to humanity is the highest form of devotion. \u201cTrue fulfilment lies in contributing to the happiness and upliftment of society,\u201d he remarked.\"\"<\/p>\n

Highlighting the spiritual significance of Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister said the state holds a unique place in India\u2019s religious and cultural heritage. He referred to Chhattisgarh as the maternal home (nanihal<\/em>) of Lord Shri Ram and the birthplace (mayka<\/em>) of Mother Kaushalya. He noted that Lord Ram spent a significant part of his exile in the forests of the region, particularly in the ancient Dandakaranya<\/em> area, which includes the vast Abujhmad forest region.<\/p>\n

Sai also mentioned the sacred association of Shivnarayan with Mother Shabari and recalled the contributions of revered saints such as Guru Ghasidas, underlining that Chhattisgarh has long been a land of saints, spirituality and social reform.<\/p>\n

State Advancing Towards Peace and Progress<\/h3>\n

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that, with divine blessings and collective efforts, Chhattisgarh is steadily progressing on the path of development and is moving towards becoming free from Naxalism. He said peace and stability are essential for sustained growth and social harmony.<\/p>\n

He further highlighted the state government\u2019s Prabhu Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana<\/em>, under which devotees from Chhattisgarh are facilitated to undertake pilgrimage to Ayodhya for the darshan of Lord Ramlala. According to official figures, around 42,000 devotees have so far benefited from the scheme, while over 5,000 senior citizens have been enabled to visit various other pilgrimage sites across the country.<\/p>\n

Focus on Religious Preservation and Cow Welfare<\/h3>\n

Reaffirming the government\u2019s commitment to preserving cultural and religious values, Sai said that the Chhattisgarh Freedom of Religion Act has been enacted with stringent provisions to prevent unlawful religious conversions. He stated that the legislation aims to safeguard social harmony and ensure transparency in matters of faith.\"\"<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister also spoke about the implementation of the Surbhi Gaudham Yojana, launched to promote cow protection and welfare. Under the scheme, necessary arrangements, including fodder and shelter, have been ensured for cows housed in Gaudhams across the state.<\/p>\n

Several dignitaries were present on the occasion, including Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Culture Minister Rajesh Agarwal, Skill Development Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, and MLAs Purandar Mishra, Himanshu Dwivedi and Sunil Ramdas Agarwal, along with organisers and a large number of devotees.<\/p>\n
