CM Vishnu Deo Sai urges citizens to participate actively, says accurate census data is key to shaping future development policies<\/em><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 16,2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday formally launched the state-level campaign for Census of India 2027<\/strong> by conducting online self-enumeration at the Chief Minister\u2019s residence in Raipur. By personally entering his family details on the census portal, the Chief Minister sought to encourage citizens to actively participate in the nationwide exercise.<\/p>\n

Describing the census as the \u201cfoundation for determining the future direction of both the nation and the state,\u201d the Chief Minister emphasized that reliable population data is essential for effective policy formulation and development planning. He stated that the world\u2019s largest population enumeration exercise is currently underway in India, and the online self-enumeration process has officially begun in Chhattisgarh from April 16.<\/p>\n

Under the digital self-enumeration facility, citizens can voluntarily submit information about their households through the online portal between April 16 and April 30, 2026. The Chief Minister noted that this time the census process has been designed with modern digital features to ensure greater transparency, accessibility, and convenience for citizens.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the importance of the census, Shri Sai said the exercise goes far beyond collecting statistical figures. According to him, census data serves as a crucial foundation for planning future welfare programmes, infrastructure development, and public services. Governments rely on these statistics to assess population trends, identify development needs, and ensure that the benefits of various schemes reach every section of society.<\/p>\n

He informed that the first phase of the census will begin on May 1, 2026, with house listing and enumeration activities. During this phase, enumerators will visit households across the state and collect information related to both residential and non-residential buildings. The data will include details about the condition and usage of buildings, along with the availability of essential facilities such as drinking water, toilets, electricity, cooking gas, internet connectivity, and communication services. The house listing exercise will continue until May 30.<\/p>\n

Appealing to the public, the Chief Minister urged residents to provide accurate, complete, and clear information to enumerators when they visit their homes. He stressed that every detail recorded during the census plays an important role in shaping the developmental roadmap of the state.<\/p>\n

He also assured citizens that all personal information collected during the census will remain strictly confidential and will be used solely for statistical analysis and policy planning purposes.<\/p>\n

Referring to the state\u2019s long-term vision, Shri Sai said Chhattisgarh is moving rapidly on the path of development and the census will play a vital role in achieving the goal of \u201cDeveloped Chhattisgarh 2047.\u201d Accurate demographic data, he said, forms the backbone of effective governance and helps governments design targeted schemes for education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare.<\/p>\n

Calling upon citizens to extend their full cooperation, the Chief Minister appealed to people across the state to treat the census campaign as a collective public effort and actively contribute to making it successful.<\/p>\n

Additional Chief Secretary and Census Nodal Officer Manoj Kumar Pingua, Raipur Collector Gaurav Kumar Singh, Director of Census Operations Kartikeya Goyal, and several other officials were present during the launch of the campaign.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
