<\/p>\nTFP Bureau, New Delhi, April 21,2026: The Income Tax Department organised a major outreach programme in the national capital on Monday to create awareness about the newly introduced Income Tax Act, 2025 and to promote financial literacy among educational institutions and stakeholders associated with charitable organisations.<\/p>\n
The programme was conducted by the Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemptions), Delhi, and witnessed the participation of representatives from more than 80 schools across the Delhi\u2013NCR region. Trustees, administrators and other functionaries associated with educational institutions also attended the event, making it a significant platform for interaction between the tax administration and stakeholders from the education sector.<\/p>\n
The event was graced by Pallavi Agarwal, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemptions), who addressed the gathering and explained the key provisions of the new Income Tax Act, 2025. She highlighted that the newly introduced legislation aims to simplify compliance procedures, reduce interpretational ambiguities and enhance transparency through the adoption of technology-driven systems.<\/p>\n
Agarwal emphasised that the new Act is designed to strengthen trust between taxpayers and the tax administration while ensuring efficient governance. She noted that simplified processes and digital mechanisms would make tax compliance easier for institutions and individuals alike, aligning with the Government of India\u2019s broader vision of building a developed nation under the \u201cViksit Bharat 2047\u201d initiative.<\/p>\n
During the programme, officials of the Income Tax Department also conducted detailed sessions explaining provisions related to educational institutions, charitable trusts and tax exemptions. Participants were briefed about regulatory requirements, documentation standards and compliance procedures under the new legal framework. The outreach programme also served as a forum for stakeholders to raise queries and clarify concerns regarding tax provisions affecting educational and charitable organisations.<\/p>\n
To encourage financial awareness among students and promote engagement with taxation concepts, the department organised an inter-school quiz competition titled \u201cTax Your Brain \u2013 Income Tax Quiz\u201d. The competition was designed for students of Classes IX to XII and aimed at introducing young learners to the fundamentals of taxation, fiscal responsibility and the role of taxes in nation-building.<\/p>\n
Students from various participating schools enthusiastically competed across multiple rounds of the quiz, demonstrating strong knowledge and awareness of economic and taxation-related topics.
