State-level workshop calls for citizen-centric digital platforms, stronger cybersecurity, and adoption of emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence<\/em><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 24, 2026: Emphasising the transformative role of technology in governance, Chief Secretary Vikasheel on Friday called for the maximum utilisation of Information Technology (IT) tools to ensure that the benefits of the government\u2019s flagship schemes reach citizens efficiently and without delay.<\/p>\n

Addressing a one-day workshop for Informatics Officers at Mantralaya (Secretariat), Mahanadi Bhawan, the Chief Secretary underscored the need for adopting innovative and emerging technologies to strengthen service delivery systems. The workshop focused on advancements in Information Technology and their application in public service delivery mechanisms.<\/p>\n

In his keynote address, Vikasheel said that government departments must integrate new and advanced IT techniques to enhance transparency, speed, and accessibility of services. He stressed that digital platforms such as mobile applications and official websites should be designed with a citizen-centric approach, ensuring ease of use, inclusivity, and accessibility for people from all sections of society, including those in rural and remote areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cTechnology must serve as a bridge between the government and the people. Our objective should be to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives scheme benefits promptly and seamlessly through robust digital systems,\u201d he said. He added that discussions during the workshop extensively covered ways to streamline citizen services using digital platforms and to expedite the transfer of benefits under major welfare schemes directly to intended beneficiaries.<\/p>\n

The Chief Secretary further directed officers of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to remain abreast of the latest technological developments and continuously upgrade their skills. He noted that rapid advancements in fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics, cloud computing, and cybersecurity present significant opportunities for improving governance outcomes. He urged officials to adopt a proactive and innovative approach in implementing digital governance solutions.<\/p>\n

Ankit Anand, Secretary of the Department of Information and Technology, interacted with officials from the State-Level Informatics Centre and District Informatics Centres to assess the availability of technical infrastructure, human resources, and equipment. He sought detailed inputs regarding existing capabilities and additional requirements to strengthen IT systems across districts. Anand emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts between state and district-level IT units to ensure uniform implementation of e-governance initiatives.<\/p>\n

During the inaugural session, Dayanand Saha, Deputy Director General (DDG) at NIC Headquarters, New Delhi, highlighted how innovative IT applications can significantly enhance citizen service delivery. He explained that government schemes across sectors\u2014ranging from health and education to agriculture and social welfare\u2014can be integrated with digital platforms to improve monitoring, reduce leakages, and ensure accountability.<\/p>\n

Professor Dr. Om Prakash Vyas, Director and Vice-Chancellor of the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), delivered a detailed presentation on the applications of Artificial Intelligence in governance. He elaborated on how AI-driven solutions can support predictive analytics, grievance redressal systems, smart data management, and automated decision-making processes. He also spoke about the potential of AI in enhancing service efficiency while maintaining data privacy and ethical standards.<\/p>\n

Cybersecurity was another major focus of the workshop. Shrikant Pandey, Joint Director of NIC Chhattisgarh, addressed participants on emerging cyber threats and the need to safeguard sensitive government data. He stressed the importance of implementing robust security protocols, conducting regular vulnerability assessments, and training personnel to prevent cyber incidents.<\/p>\n

Joint Director Abhijit Kaushik and Upendra Singh, along with other IT experts, shared insights into digital infrastructure management, cloud-based solutions, and best practices in e-governance implementation. The sessions included technical discussions, interactive deliberations, and experience-sharing among officers from different districts.<\/p>\n

The workshop witnessed the participation of District Informatics Officers from across the state, officials of the State-Level Informatics Centre, and senior officers of the National Informatics Centre. Participants engaged in detailed discussions on strengthening digital connectivity, improving system interoperability, and ensuring last-mile delivery of services.<\/p>\n

Concluding the session, officials reiterated their commitment to leveraging advanced Information Technology solutions to build a transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly governance framework, ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach every eligible beneficiary in a timely and effective manner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
