TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 23, 2026: Public Works Department (PWD) Secretary Mukesh Kumar Bansal conducted extensive inspections and review meetings in Kabirdham and Mungeli districts to assess the progress of ongoing road and infrastructure projects, while issuing strict directives to ensure quality, transparency, and timely completion of construction works across the state.<\/p>\n
During his visit to Kabirdham district, Bansal inspected the under-construction Poudi-Bilaspur National Highway-130A and reviewed the progress, technical standards, and quality parameters of the project. He inspected both the main highway stretch and the bypass route and sought detailed updates from departmental officials and representatives of the construction agency regarding the current status of work.<\/p>\n
Expressing displeasure over delays in certain sections of the project, the PWD Secretary stated that no negligence or compromise on construction quality would be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed officials to ensure that all works are carried out strictly according to prescribed technical standards and completed within the stipulated timeline.<\/p>\n

Bansal instructed officials to immediately initiate corrective measures at locations where deficiencies or improvements were identified during the inspection. He emphasized that quality control mechanisms must be implemented rigorously at every stage of construction to avoid future technical problems.<\/p>\n
The Secretary also directed field officials to conduct regular inspections and strengthen on-site monitoring systems to accelerate project execution. He stressed the importance of continuous technical evaluation and effective quality testing throughout the construction process.<\/p>\n
Prior to the field inspection, Bansal chaired a detailed review meeting at the Kawardha Circuit House with officials from the Public Works Department, National Highways Division, and Bridges Division. During the meeting, he reviewed the progress of ongoing building, road, and bridge projects in Kabirdham district.<\/p>\n
He instructed officials to issue notices to agencies and contractors responsible for prolonged delays or lack of progress in projects. The Secretary reiterated that unnecessary delays and negligence in development works would invite strict action.<\/p>\n
Bansal further directed officials to conduct proper site inspections, technical assessments, and feasibility evaluations before initiating any proposed road or infrastructure project. In a separate visit to Mungeli district, the PWD Secretary inspected ongoing construction projects and reviewed the progress of the under-construction Lormi Bypass road. He directed departmental officials and contractors to expedite the work and ensure its completion within the prescribed timeframe.<\/p>\n
During a review meeting held at the Mungeli Circuit House, Bansal emphasized that maintaining both speed and quality in construction works remains the department\u2019s highest priority. He warned that any laxity at any stage of execution would not be tolerated.<\/p>\n
The Secretary instructed officials to take full responsibility for project implementation and regularly conduct field visits to closely monitor ongoing works. He also stressed the need for better coordination between the Public Works Department, urban local bodies, and other government departments to accelerate infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n
Highlighting smooth transportation and connectivity as major priorities of the state government, Bansal directed officials to prepare proposals for connecting villages through all-weather roads and submit them to the administration without delay.<\/p>\n
He also instructed concerned authorities to undertake patchwork repairs on damaged roads to improve road safety and commuter convenience.<\/p>\n
