TFP Bureau, New Delhi, May 23, 2026 \u2014 Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Friday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth selected for various departments and organisations under the Government of India during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela held through video conferencing.<\/p>\n
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Prime Minister described the occasion as a landmark moment for thousands of young people and their families across the country. He said the youth joining government services today would play a major role in building a developed India and strengthening key sectors such as railways, banking, defence, healthcare, education, and public administration.<\/p>\n
Congratulating the appointees, Shri Modi acknowledged their hard work and dedication in achieving success and also extended his greetings to their parents and families for supporting them throughout their journey.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister stated that India\u2019s youth are emerging as the biggest driving force behind the country\u2019s transformation into a \u201cViksit Bharat\u201d by 2047. He remarked that every Indian today is moving forward with a strong sense of commitment and national purpose, adding that large-scale investments being made across sectors are creating millions of employment opportunities for the younger generation.<\/p>\n
Shri Modi said the Rozgar Mela reflects the government\u2019s commitment to empowering the youth by creating new employment avenues and ensuring transparent recruitment in government services. He emphasized that the youth of India are not only participating in the country\u2019s growth story but are also becoming global representatives of innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
Referring to his recent diplomatic visit to five countries, the Prime Minister said global leaders and international corporations have shown tremendous confidence in India\u2019s young population and technological capabilities. He noted that the world today wants to become a partner in India\u2019s development journey.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister highlighted that several international agreements and partnerships signed during the visit would directly benefit Indian youth by generating employment and technological exposure. He mentioned discussions and agreements related to semiconductors, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, green technology, maritime cooperation, advanced manufacturing, strategic energy, defence, and critical minerals with countries including the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, the UAE, and Italy.<\/p>\n
Shri Modi stated that sectors associated with clean energy, green hydrogen, sustainable manufacturing, critical minerals, and advanced technologies are expanding rapidly across the world, and India is positioning itself as a major global player in these emerging industries.<\/p>\n
He said partnerships in these sectors are opening doors to a new economy and creating fresh opportunities for engineers, technicians, researchers, start-ups, and skilled workers across the country. Referring to the ASML-Tata Electronics partnership, the Prime Minister said the agreement alone is expected to generate thousands of jobs and strengthen India\u2019s semiconductor ecosystem.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister further said India is developing a complete semiconductor supply chain and that several major semiconductor manufacturing units are expected to establish India as a global technology hub in the coming years.<\/p>\n
Highlighting developments in infrastructure and manufacturing, Shri Modi said the country is witnessing unprecedented investment in shipbuilding, aviation maintenance, logistics, electronics manufacturing, highways, railways, airports, and digital connectivity. He added that these sectors are generating large-scale employment opportunities for the youth.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister also underlined the success of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, saying it has accelerated electronics manufacturing and helped create millions of jobs while strengthening India\u2019s domestic value chain.<\/p>\n
Shri Modi said rapid transformation is now clearly visible even in rural areas due to improved roads, electricity, internet connectivity, and digital infrastructure. He noted that better connectivity has opened new opportunities for farmers, traders, entrepreneurs, and students in villages and smaller towns.<\/p>\n
He added that government initiatives such as housing schemes, rural roads, tap water supply, electrification, and digital services have not only improved living standards but have also strengthened economic activity and employment generation at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister said India today offers unprecedented opportunities to its youth in sectors such as manufacturing, technology, defence, digital services, railways, start-ups, and space research. He added that the government is continuously focusing on skill development, industry-linked education, modernization of ITIs, and future technologies to prepare the youth for emerging global demands.<\/p>\n
Highlighting the rapid rise of entrepreneurship in the country, Shri Modi said India has become the world\u2019s third-largest startup ecosystem with more than 2.3 lakh recognised startups. He noted that youth from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities are now actively contributing to innovation and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister also emphasized the growing role of women entrepreneurs and said schemes such as Mudra Yojana and PM SVANidhi are helping women and small entrepreneurs become self-reliant and financially empowered.<\/p>\n
Addressing the newly recruited government employees directly, Shri Modi said public service should be viewed as a means of national service and citizen welfare. He urged the appointees to work with honesty, sensitivity, and dedication while strengthening public trust in government institutions.<\/p>\n
He stressed the importance of continuous learning and encouraged the recruits to make full use of digital training platforms such as iGOT Karmayogi and Karmayogi Prarambh to improve their skills and efficiency.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister concluded by expressing confidence that the energy, commitment, and talent of India\u2019s youth would play a decisive role in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047.
