Addressing National CA Students\u2019 Conference in Raipur, Governor highlights importance of ethics, trust, entrepreneurship and responsible use of technology<\/em><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 7,2026: Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka on Sunday said that Chartered Accountants are far more than financial and taxation advisors, describing them as trusted guides who help businesses navigate challenges and achieve sustainable growth.<\/p>\n

Addressing the two-day National CA Students\u2019 Conference at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur, the Governor said accounting serves as the backbone of any successful business and that the role of Chartered Accountants has expanded significantly in today\u2019s rapidly evolving economic environment.<\/p>\n

The conference was organized jointly by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India Raipur Branch and the Central India Chartered Accountants Students Association. More than 1,000 CA students from across the country participated in the event.<\/p>\n

Emphasizing the importance of tax compliance, Mr. Deka said tax revenue plays a crucial role in national development and governance. He urged Chartered Accountants to encourage eligible citizens to fulfill their tax obligations and advocated for a simpler and more accessible taxation system, particularly for senior citizens.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the contribution of entrepreneurship to economic growth, the Governor said small businesses and startups form the foundation of employment generation in India. He noted that micro, small and medium enterprises are making significant contributions to the country’s economic progress and stressed the need to promote business and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

\"\"Speaking on emerging technologies, Mr. Deka said Artificial Intelligence should be used as a constructive tool to enhance human capabilities rather than viewed as a replacement for human intelligence. He remarked that technology can help professionals perform their work more efficiently and effectively when used responsibly.<\/p>\n

The Governor also expressed concern over excessive use of mobile phones and social media among young people. He warned that digital addiction can adversely affect cognitive abilities and noted that several countries have introduced guidelines and restrictions regarding smartphone use by children below the age of 16.<\/p>\n

Addressing aspiring Chartered Accountants, Mr. Deka underscored the importance of professional ethics, saying trust and confidentiality remain the greatest strengths of the profession. He observed that a client\u2019s confidence depends on a professional\u2019s integrity, work ethic and commitment to ethical values, which ultimately determine long-term success.<\/p>\n

Encouraging students to pursue their careers with dedication and enthusiasm, the Governor said the profession offers immense opportunities. He also urged them to engage in at least one activity dedicated solely to social welfare and public service, without any expectation of personal gain.<\/p>\n

A souvenir was released during the conference. Among those present were Rajesh Sharma, Chairman of the ICAI Board of Studies; Gyan Chandra Mishra; and Rashmi Verma, along with office-bearers, executive committee members and a large gathering of CA students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
