30 voluntary donors and several organizations honoured in Raipur; Governor lauds selfless service and urges more people to donate blood<\/em><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 14,2026: Describing blood donation as the highest form of humanitarian service, Governor Shri Ramen Deka on Sunday said that there is no greater act of giving than donating blood to save another person\u2019s life. He made the remarks while honouring voluntary blood donors at a World Blood Donor Day programme organised at Lok Bhavan by the Chhattisgarh State Branch of the Indian Red Cross Society.<\/p>\n

Governor Deka, who also serves as the President of the Chhattisgarh Red Cross Society, felicitated 30 voluntary blood donors who have made the highest number of donations in the state. Representatives of various organisations and institutions engaged in promoting blood donation were also honoured with certificates of appreciation.\"\"<\/p>\n

A blood donation camp was organised as part of the event, with officials, employees and members of the public participating enthusiastically.<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering, the Governor said there is no artificial substitute for blood and that it can only be obtained through voluntary donations by healthy individuals. He emphasised that timely availability of blood is often the deciding factor between life and death in medical emergencies involving thalassemia, sickle cell anaemia, haemophilia, cancer, severe anaemia and accident victims.<\/p>\n

Praising the commitment of Chhattisgarh\u2019s blood donors, Deka said their selfless contributions have helped save countless lives over the years and serve as an inspiration for society. He added that such acts of service set an example for future generations to follow.<\/p>\n

The Governor also commended the Red Cross Blood Bank and its staff for their sustained efforts in ensuring the availability of life-saving blood to patients in need.\"\"<\/p>\n

During the programme, a Red Cross souvenir publication was unveiled. Chhattisgarh Red Cross Society Chairman Toman Sahu delivered the welcome address, while Secretary Dr. Rupal Purohit proposed the vote of thanks.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by Dr. C.R. Prasanna, Secretary to the Governor; Rupesh Panigrahi, Vice-Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Red Cross; Treasurer Sanjay Patel; Dr. Satyanarayan Pandey, In-charge of the Red Cross Blood Centre in Raipur; former Chairman Ashok Agrawal; along with Red Cross office-bearers, voluntary blood donors and representatives of various institutions and organisations.\"\"<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
