Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap inaugurates civic facilities, calls for master plan to transform Dantewada into a modern and environmentally sustainable pilgrimage destination<\/em><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 15,2026: Chhattisgarh Forest, Transport, Cooperation and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap on Monday inaugurated a series of public infrastructure projects worth nearly \u20b91.5 crore in Dantewada district, underscoring the state government\u2019s commitment to improving urban amenities and developing the town as a major religious tourism destination.<\/p>\n

The projects, executed at a cost of \u20b91.49 crore, include a modern food plaza (Chaupati), commercial kiosks, aspirational public toilets and a new Anganwadi centre. Officials said the facilities are expected to enhance civic services, promote sanitation and strengthen child development initiatives in the district.\"\"<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering, Kashyap said Dantewada is steadily emerging as an important religious centre and is likely to witness a growing influx of pilgrims and tourists in the coming years. To accommodate future growth, he directed the district administration to prepare a comprehensive master plan for the planned development of the town and its temple precincts.<\/p>\n

The minister also stressed the need for environmentally responsible urban development. Expressing concern over the discharge of untreated sewage into nearby rivers, he instructed officials to ensure that wastewater is properly treated before being released or that suitable alternative arrangements are made. He further directed the Water Resources Department to prepare a proposal for protective riverbank pitching works near the Bhairam Baba Temple to prevent soil erosion.<\/p>\n

In a series of announcements aimed at enhancing the city\u2019s identity and public spaces, Kashyap said major roads and intersections in Dantewada would be named after freedom fighters and eminent personalities to inspire future generations. He also announced plans to construct an attractive clock tower in the town and install water slides at the local swimming pool complex to encourage recreational and sporting activities among children and youth.\"\"<\/p>\n

The minister said the state government envisions developing Dantewada into a modern, clean and well-equipped religious tourism hub while ensuring that environmental conservation, sanitation and public convenience remain central to the development process.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by MLA Chaitram Atami, State Women\u2019s Commission member Ojasvi Mandavi, Zila Panchayat President Nandlal Mudami, Vice-President Arvind Kunjam, Municipal Council President Payal Gupta, Janpad Panchayat President Sunita Bhaskar, Collector Devesh Kumar Dhruv, Divisional Forest Officer Ramakrishna Ranganatha Y and several other public representatives and citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
