Higher Education Minister Tank Ram Verma announces student help desks and calls for strict implementation of NEP 2020 to improve quality and discipline<\/em><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 19,2026: Chhattisgarh Higher Education Minister Tank Ram Verma has called for strict adherence to the academic calendar in the new academic session, stressing that timely classes, examinations and result declarations will be central to the state\u2019s efforts to strengthen higher education.<\/p>\n

Extending his best wishes to principals, faculty members and non-teaching staff across colleges in the state, Verma said the government is committed to making the higher education system more disciplined, transparent and student-centric through a series of structural reforms.<\/p>\n

The minister highlighted the ongoing implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, greater adoption of digital governance, integrated regulatory mechanisms and stricter norms on student attendance as key initiatives aimed at improving educational standards. He also emphasised that maintaining quality education, discipline and cleanliness on college campuses would remain a priority.<\/p>\n

In a major student-focused initiative, Verma announced the establishment of dedicated help desks in colleges to facilitate the prompt resolution of students\u2019 grievances and administrative issues. The move is expected to simplify access to services and reduce delays in addressing academic concerns.<\/p>\n

Appealing to students to complete admissions within the prescribed schedule, the minister urged them to secure enrollment on time based on merit, warning that repeated extensions of admission deadlines should be avoided. Timely admissions, he said, would ensure the smooth commencement of classes and prevent disruptions to the academic calendar.<\/p>\n

Verma also directed educational institutions to ensure the punctual implementation of NEP 2020 provisions, including the completion of syllabi within scheduled timelines and the conduct of semester and other examinations as per the academic calendar. He said examination results should likewise be declared on time to maintain academic efficiency.<\/p>\n

Beyond classroom learning, the minister encouraged colleges to promote co-curricular and extracurricular activities to foster the holistic development of students and enhance the reputation of educational institutions across the state.<\/p>\n

Reaffirming the government\u2019s commitment to youth development, Verma said the administration led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai would continue working to create better educational opportunities and prepare students for a brighter future while contributing to the vision of a developed India by 2047.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
