<\/p>\nTFP Bureau, Raipur, June 19, 2026: The past 12 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have witnessed significant progress in employment generation, poverty alleviation, and economic empowerment, said Chhattisgarh Industries Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan at an event held under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana.<\/p>\n
He said India\u2019s economy has strengthened during this period, creating new opportunities for youth across sectors and reinforcing the government\u2019s focus on inclusive growth.<\/p>\n
An incentive distribution programme under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system was organised at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, with proceedings broadcast live at the AIIMS Auditorium in Raipur. The event was attended by Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, Lok Sabha MP Brijmohan Agrawal, senior officials, and public representatives.<\/p>\n
The Central Government released incentives worth \u20b92,400 crore under the scheme, which aims to provide a fresh push to employment generation across the country. According to officials, more than 15 lakh young people have already secured jobs through the initiative.<\/p>\n
The scheme provides a one-time incentive equivalent to one month\u2019s salary\u2014up to \u20b915,000\u2014for youth entering formal employment for the first time. Employers hiring additional workers are eligible for incentives of up to \u20b93,000 per month per new employee, encouraging large-scale job creation in industries and institutions.<\/p>\n
Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje also participated in the programme held at Vigyan Bhawan.<\/p>\n
Dewangan said the scheme, with a total outlay of \u20b999,446 crore, is expected to generate over 3.5 crore jobs in the coming two years, including nearly 1.92 crore first-time formal job seekers. He added that notable progress has been made in the labour and employment sector under the central leadership.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted that Chhattisgarh\u2019s new industrial policy has received strong response from investors, attracting proposals worth around \u20b98 lakh crore, which is expected to significantly boost employment generation in the state.<\/p>\n
Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary said major achievements have been recorded in employment and economic development during the Prime Minister\u2019s tenure and noted that the state\u2019s industrial policy focuses strongly on job creation for youth.<\/p>\n
Lok Sabha MP Brijmohan Agrawal said the vision of a \u201cViksit Bharat\u201d is being advanced through innovation-driven schemes and stressed the need to connect youth from institutions such as NIT, IIT, IIM, and the National Law University with skill development and employment opportunities.<\/p>\n

He also pointed to industrial regions like Nagarnar and Bailadila as key centres offering future employment potential for trained youth.<\/p>\n
Officials from the Employees\u2019 Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), including Regional Office Head Jayvardhan Ingle, also shared their views during the event.
