Yoga camps held across BALCO Nagar, Vedanta Skill Schools and Nand Ghars; hundreds of youth, employees and children participate in wellness activities<\/em><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Korba, June 23, 2026: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a subsidiary of Vedanta Aluminium, celebrated World Yoga Day with a series of yoga camps and wellness activities across its operational and community development centres, spreading the message of health, mindfulness and holistic well-being among employees, youth and local communities.<\/p>\n

A major yoga session was organised at Mitan Bhavan in BALCO Nagar, where employees, business partners and trainees from Vedanta Skill School participated enthusiastically. Similar sessions were conducted at Vedanta Skill Schools and Nand Ghar centres operating under BALCO\u2019s community development initiatives, with the aim of creating awareness about physical fitness, mental balance and healthy lifestyle practices.<\/p>\n

The celebrations witnessed active participation from trainees and instructors at all three Vedanta Skill School centres located in Korba, Kawardha and Mainpat. To highlight the significance of yoga, regular sessions were conducted for a week prior to International Yoga Day. More than 140 trainees at the Korba centre, along with over 20 participants each at Kawardha and Mainpat, took part in yoga exercises and wellness activities.\"\"<\/p>\n

Yoga sessions were also organised at BALCO-supported Nand Ghar centres, where more than 300 children enthusiastically participated. Through simple yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation practices, children were introduced to the importance of health, discipline and concentration from an early age.<\/p>\n

The observance was part of a larger wellness campaign across the Vedanta Group. Various Vedanta businesses, including Hindustan Zinc, Vedanta Copper, Vedanta Nickel, FACOR, Vedanta Oil & Gas, Vedanta Iron & Steel and Vedanta Power, organised yoga sessions and awareness programmes to encourage healthy living and mindfulness among employees and communities.<\/p>\n

The initiative also extended to Vedanta\u2019s flagship social programme, Nand Ghar, which operates more than 13,000 centres across 17 states and focuses on early childhood education, nutrition, healthcare and women\u2019s empowerment. Yoga and wellness activities were also conducted at community initiatives such as the Vedanta AAS Vidyalaya Caf\u00e9 in Jharkhand and Zinc Skill Centres in Rajasthan.<\/p>\n

BALCO officials said the Yoga Day celebrations reflected the company\u2019s commitment to sustainable community development. While Vedanta Skill Schools continue to equip youth with employment-oriented skills and promote self-reliance, Nand Ghar centres play a crucial role in strengthening the health, nutrition and education of women and children.<\/p>\n

The World Yoga Day programmes, they added, went beyond yoga practice to reinforce the importance of physical health, mental well-being and community engagement, highlighting BALCO\u2019s ongoing efforts to build a healthier, more aware and empowered society.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
