Senior officials deliberate on zero-trust systems, data protection and cyber resilience roadmap for digital governance<\/em><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 23, 2026: In view of the rapid expansion of digital governance and increasing reliance on online public service delivery, a state-level workshop titled \u201cStrengthening Cyber Security Frameworks for State Data\u201d was successfully concluded in Raipur. The event focused on enhancing the security of citizen data and protecting critical digital infrastructure across government systems.<\/p>\n

The workshop was jointly organized by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology and CHiPS. More than 120 senior officials, technical experts and national-level cybersecurity specialists from various departments, boards and corporations participated in the deliberations.<\/p>\n

Addressing the inaugural session, Secretary Shri Ankit Anand said that digital governance is fundamentally dependent on citizen trust, which can only be ensured through secure, reliable and resilient digital systems. He emphasized that cybersecurity has now evolved beyond a technical concern into a core governance priority linked with service continuity and public confidence.<\/p>\n

He further noted that while the state is rapidly expanding digital services, equal emphasis must be placed on strengthening systems to withstand evolving cyber threats and ensuring long-term digital resilience.<\/p>\n

Presenting the framework of the workshop, CHiPS CEO Shri Mayank Agrawal stated that cybersecurity is being treated as the cornerstone of digital governance in the state. He said a comprehensive and future-ready roadmap is being developed to safeguard the state\u2019s digital assets and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

He highlighted six key thematic areas discussed during the workshop in line with Government of India guidelines: risk-based security assessment, data centre and network security, Security Operations Centre (SOC), Zero Trust Architecture, data governance, and capacity building for cyber awareness and preparedness.\"\"<\/p>\n

Technical sessions featured expert presentations from across the country. Dr. Dhruv Gupta, Inspector General of Police (Technical Services), provided an overview of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, noting that its full implementation is expected by 2027.<\/p>\n

Dr. Saurabh Gupta, former Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs and advisor to NATGRID, shared insights on global and national cybersecurity best practices. Shri Suresh Chandra, former Scientist-G and Deputy Director General at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, stressed the importance of standardization, certification, and trusted IT systems for safeguarding government data.<\/p>\n

Participants were divided into six thematic groups where detailed discussions were held on strengthening cybersecurity maturity, improving monitoring systems, enhancing departmental accountability, conducting regular audits, establishing incident response mechanisms and building skilled human resources.<\/p>\n

Key recommendations emerging from the workshop will be compiled into a refined state cybersecurity action plan. Select suggestions will also be forwarded to the Government of India and relevant national institutions for wider consideration.<\/p>\n

The concluding session was attended by Dr. V. Ramanna Rao of National Institute of Technology Raipur, Shri T.N. Singh (State Informatics Officer, Chhattisgarh), Shri Shashank Pandey (Additional CEO, CHiPS), along with senior officials Shri U.S. Agrawal, Shri Ashish Jaiswal and Shri Anupam Ashish Toppo.<\/p>\n

The workshop concluded with a strong consensus that coordinated inter-departmental efforts are essential to ensure secure digital governance, robust cyber infrastructure and effective protection of citizen data.
