TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 26,2026: Chhattisgarh’s efforts to emerge as a major textile and garment manufacturing destination received a significant boost with the commencement of the first garment manufacturing unit at the upcoming Textile Park in Nava Raipur. The development marks a key milestone in Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s vision of diversifying the state’s industrial landscape and creating large-scale employment opportunities for local youth and women.<\/p>\n

Tamil Nadu-based Swift Textiles Private Limited has begun work on the Textile Park’s first manufacturing facility following a Bhoomipoojan ceremony conducted on June 25 by Industries Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan and Housing and Environment Minister O.P. Choudhary.<\/p>\n

The company is investing \u20b9235 crore in the project, which is expected to provide employment to more than 4,600 people. The facility will manufacture children’s apparel and knit garments, with a significant portion of production targeted at export markets in Europe and the United States.<\/p>\n

The Textile Park, spread across 81 acres in Nava Raipur, is being developed as an integrated industrial hub for textiles, garments, technical textiles and allied industries. The state government is creating modern infrastructure within the park, including internal roads, drainage and stormwater systems, power substations, water supply networks, street lighting, an administrative building, a commercial complex, a Common Facility Centre, an Effluent Treatment Plant and a solid waste management zone.\"\"<\/p>\n

Officials said the project aligns with the state government’s broader strategy of attracting manufacturing investments while ensuring employment generation for local residents. The initiative is backed by the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024-30, which identifies textiles and ready-made garments among the state’s priority sectors.<\/p>\n

Investor interest in the Textile Park has been steadily growing. In addition to Swift Textiles, land has been allotted to Puneet Creations and Drishti Designs LLP. Together, the three companies are expected to invest nearly \u20b9445 crore and create more than 11,000 employment opportunities.<\/p>\n

To encourage job creation, the state’s industrial policy offers employment assistance for five years, providing \u20b96,000 per month for every woman employee and \u20b95,000 per month for every male employee. Government officials said such incentives have strengthened investor confidence, helping Chhattisgarh attract investment proposals worth more than \u20b98 lakh crore over the past 18 months, with the potential to generate over 1.6 lakh jobs.<\/p>\n

Apart from textiles, the state has also witnessed growing investments in sectors such as data centres, information technology, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and electrical and electronics manufacturing, reflecting its ambitions to build a diversified industrial ecosystem.<\/p>\n

As India seeks to expand manufacturing beyond traditional industrial hubs, Chhattisgarh is positioning itself as an emerging destination for investment-driven growth. The Nava Raipur Textile Park is expected to play a crucial role in boosting exports, attracting industries and creating sustainable livelihoods across the state.<\/p>\n
