The Chhattisgarh government’s Saraswati Bicycle Scheme is transforming access to education for girl students in remote areas by providing free bicycles, enabling safer and easier travel to school while reducing dropout rates.<\/em><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 29,2026 :<\/strong> The Chhattisgarh government’s Saraswati Bicycle Distribution Scheme<\/strong> is emerging as a major initiative to promote girls’ education by providing free bicycles to high school students, making their daily commute to school safer, easier and more convenient.<\/p>\n

The scheme is aimed at encouraging girls to continue their education, particularly in rural and remote areas where long distances often become a barrier to regular school attendance. By reducing travel time and improving accessibility, the initiative seeks to lower dropout rates and empower girls to pursue higher education.<\/p>\n

One such beneficiary is Vaishnavi Kasera<\/strong>, a student of the Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Surajpur district. A resident of Bajarpara, Vaishnavi said she earlier had to walk to school every day, which consumed valuable time and affected her studies. Receiving a free bicycle under the scheme has eased her daily commute and allowed her to focus more on academics.<\/p>\n

Expressing her gratitude, Vaishnavi said the bicycle has given “new wings” to her dreams. She added that she now hopes to attend school regularly, study harder and work towards achieving her career goals.<\/p>\n

She also thanked Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the Chhattisgarh Government, describing the scheme as a meaningful step towards promoting girls’ education and self-reliance.<\/p>\n

Officials said the Saraswati Bicycle Scheme has encouraged greater school attendance among girls while helping create equal educational opportunities for students from economically weaker and geographically remote communities.
