The flagship programme seeks to empower rural communities while advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047<\/strong> by creating sustainable employment opportunities, developing durable community assets, and promoting long-term economic growth in villages.<\/p>\n Under the scheme, every eligible rural household will be guaranteed up to 125 days of wage employment annually<\/strong>based on demand. Priority will be given to works related to water conservation, rural infrastructure, agriculture, natural resource management, irrigation, afforestation, and livelihood enhancement. A total of 318 categories of development works<\/strong> have been identified under the mission to support the vision of a Viksit Gram (Developed Village).<\/strong><\/p>\n To facilitate effective implementation, the Chhattisgarh government has allocated \u20b94,000 crore<\/strong> for the scheme in the 2026-27 state budget.<\/p>\n The official launch of the programme will take place on July 2<\/strong>, with Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan<\/strong> inaugurating the national rollout from Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, and interacting virtually with representatives from states across the country. In Chhattisgarh, the state-level launch will be held at Gram Panchayat Gandaikhurd<\/strong> in Kabirdham district’s Bodla development block, where Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma<\/strong> will participate through video conferencing and interact with villagers. The mission also aims to strengthen the role of Gram Sabhas in local governance. Under the new framework, Gram Sabhas will prepare development action plans for their respective Panchayats, enabling projects to be selected based on local priorities and community needs.<\/p>\n The scheme incorporates several governance reforms, including digital job cards, technology-driven work management, transparent monitoring, social audits, and a system to ensure wage payments within 15 days<\/strong>.
