‘Barnawapara\u2013Sirpur Tourism Circuit’ to promote eco, heritage and religious tourism while supporting local livelihoods during sanctuary closure<\/strong><\/h3>\n

TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 6,2026: The Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary has been closed to tourists from July 1 to October 31 to safeguard wildlife during the monsoon breeding season, but visitors will still be able to explore the region through a newly launched tourism circuit connecting several natural, cultural and heritage destinations.<\/p>\n

To sustain tourism activity during the annual closure, the Baloda Bazar Forest Division has introduced the ‘Barnawapara\u2013Sirpur Tourism Circuit: The Sacred Garland’<\/strong>, bringing together prominent eco-tourism, religious and historical sites in and around the sanctuary’s buffer zones.<\/p>\n

The circuit includes destinations such as Sirpur<\/strong>, Dhaskund Waterfall<\/strong>, Turturiya<\/strong>, Giroudpuri Dham<\/strong>, Siddhkhol Waterfall<\/strong>, Sonakhan<\/strong>, the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial, Devpur Nature Camp, Dev Hills Eco-Ethnic Stay at Achanakpur and the Kodar Reservoir.<\/p>\n

According to the Forest Department, the circuit offers visitors an opportunity to experience forests, waterfalls, hills, archaeological heritage, religious sites and tribal culture, all of which become particularly attractive during the monsoon as the landscape turns lush green.<\/p>\n

Among the major monsoon attractions are Devpur Nature Camp, Dev Hills Eco-Ethnic Stay, Siddhkhol Waterfall, Turturiya Dham, Dhamni Eco-Village, Dhaskund Falls and Sirpur, which are expected to draw tourists despite the temporary closure of the wildlife sanctuary.<\/p>\n

The Forest Department is also engaging tour operators, travel agencies, travel influencers, content creators and nature photographers to promote the circuit at the national level. The initiative aims to encourage responsible and sustainable tourism while creating employment opportunities for local communities through greater visitor engagement.<\/p>\n

Divisional Forest Officer Dhammasheel Ganveer<\/strong> said the initiative has been launched in line with the vision of Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap<\/strong> to integrate nature, culture, heritage and local communities on a single platform. He said that although the sanctuary will remain closed during the monsoon, tourists can continue to explore the natural, cultural and religious attractions located in the Barnawapara-Sirpur buffer zones while contributing to sustainable tourism and local economic development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
