TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 9,2026: The Chhattisgarh government has initiated steps to strengthen the state’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure by planning an integrated digital platform that will allow users to access charging station information through a single application.<\/p>\n
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Transport Secretary-cum-Transport Commissioner S. Prakash at the Mantralaya. Representatives from the Transport Department, Regional and District Transport Offices, the Energy Department, public sector oil companies, EV manufacturers and industry experts participated in the meeting.<\/p>\n
Officials noted that EV users currently have to rely on separate mobile applications operated by different charging service providers, leading to inconvenience. To address this, the state government plans to develop an integrated platform that will provide comprehensive information on charging stations across Chhattisgarh. The initiative will complement the Government of India’s proposed universal EV charging application, while the state’s Energy Department is already developing a pilot application through the Chhattisgarh Infotech and Biotech Promotion Society.<\/p>\n
The meeting also reviewed financial assistance available for setting up charging stations under the Centre’s PM E-DRIVE scheme and incentives offered through the Chhattisgarh EV Policy, 2022.<\/p>\n
Regional Transport Officers (RTOs) and District Transport Officers (DTOs) were directed to identify suitable locations for establishing charging stations in their respective districts and expedite the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to facilitate faster implementation.<\/p>\n
Representatives from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Jio-bp presented details of existing charging stations, upcoming projects and their expansion plans in the state.<\/p>\n
Prakash said the development of a robust EV charging network and timely dissemination of information to consumers are essential for encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles. He added that the initiative would support green transportation, reduce pollution and make EV charging more convenient and accessible for people across Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
