<\/p>\nTFP Bureau, Raipur, July 14, 2026: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai planted a Rudraksha sapling today during a large-scale plantation drive organized at the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly premises under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0’ campaign during the Monsoon Session of the Assembly.<\/p>\n
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, launched at the call of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has grown into a nationwide people’s movement. He said the campaign is not merely about planting saplings but also about expressing gratitude towards one’s mother, nurturing sensitivity towards nature and strengthening the collective responsibility of safeguarding the environment for future generations.<\/p>\n
Shri Sai said planting a sapling in the name of one’s mother creates an emotional bond that inspires people to nurture and protect it. He said this emotional connect has made the campaign sustainable, impactful and driven by public participation.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister described the initiative by Members of the Legislative Assembly to plant saplings in their mothers’ names as highly inspiring. He said the message from the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly would create greater awareness about environmental conservation across the state. Thanking Speaker Dr. Raman Singh for organizing the initiative, he said it would play an important role in transforming tree plantation into a people’s movement.<\/p>\n
Highlighting the growing challenges posed by climate change, global warming, erratic rainfall and the loss of biodiversity, Shri Sai said tree plantation is one of the most effective ways to protect natural resources and secure the future of coming generations. Trees, he said, are essential for maintaining ecological balance, conserving water, preserving biodiversity and ensuring a healthy environment. He urged every citizen to plant at least one sapling and nurture it with the same care and affection as a member of the family.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister said the state government is according the highest priority to environmental conservation alongside its vision of a developed Chhattisgarh. He said sustained efforts are being made to promote forest conservation, expand green cover, conserve water, protect biodiversity and encourage community participation in environmental initiatives.<\/p>\n
Expressing confidence in the success of the campaign, Shri Sai said ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0′ would reach every village, town and household in the state and evolve into a people’s movement for nature conservation. He added that if every citizen plants and nurtures a sapling in the name of their mother, Chhattisgarh could emerge as a model for environmental conservation.<\/p>\n
Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Vijay Sharma and Shri Arun Sao, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, and other Members of the Legislative Assembly participated in the plantation drive by planting saplings in their mothers’ names. A special selfie point created for the campaign also drew enthusiastic participation, and the public representatives appealed to people across the state to plant more trees and ensure their care and protection.<\/p>\n
