<\/p>\nTFP Bureau, Raipur, July 23,2026: Chhattisgarh is rapidly emerging as a technology-driven state with the expansion of digital governance, artificial intelligence (AI), broadband connectivity and citizen-centric online services, senior officials of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Addressing a press conference at the Chhattisgarh Samvad Auditorium in Atal Nagar, Naya Raipur, Electronics and Information Technology Secretary Ankit Anand and Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) Chief Executive Officer Mayank Agrawal highlighted the department’s achievements and outlined its roadmap for strengthening digital governance across the state.<\/p>\n
Anand said the department, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, is working to make governance more transparent, efficient and citizen-friendly by expanding digital infrastructure, adopting AI-based solutions and improving online public service delivery.<\/p>\n
One of the flagship initiatives, Seva Setu, has emerged as the state’s largest integrated digital citizen services platform. The upgraded portal, launched by the Chief Minister on April 29, 2026, currently offers 564 services from 35 government departments.<\/p>\n
Officials said more than 85 lakh applications have been received through the portal over the past two-and-a-half years, with over 78 lakh successfully disposed of. Services such as ration cards, marriage registration and household tap water connections are now available online, enabling citizens, particularly those in rural areas, to access government services without visiting offices.<\/p>\n
The portal also offers digital document verification, QR code-based authentication, SMS and WhatsApp notifications, online payment facilities and real-time application tracking, significantly improving transparency and reducing processing time.<\/p>\n
Highlighting digital inclusion, Anand said the government is rapidly expanding mobile connectivity across remote, forest and tribal regions through the Aspirational Districts Programme, LWE Phase-II and the 4G Saturation Project funded under the Government of India’s Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN).<\/p>\n
Since January 2024, as many as 1,273 mobile towers have become operational across the state. In addition, BharatNet Phase-III will connect Gram Panchayats with high-speed broadband infrastructure. The Centre has approved \u20b93,928 crore for the project, which will provide high-speed internet, digital services and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) connectivity in rural areas.<\/p>\n
To prepare skilled professionals for the digital economy, the state has also launched the Chief Minister’s IT Fellowship in collaboration with the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Naya Raipur. The programme will provide advanced technical training and practical experience in government departments to 50 selected youth from Chhattisgarh in accordance with reservation norms.<\/p>\n
Officials also highlighted several digital platforms that have strengthened governance across sectors. The Khanij Online 2.0 portal generated mineral revenue of \u20b930,311.80 crore between January 2024 and June 2026, while the Integrated Waste Monitoring and Management System (IWMMS) enables online monitoring of industrial waste transportation and disposal.<\/p>\n
The One Click-Single Window System 2.0 now integrates 151 services from 19 departments, providing investors with time-bound online approvals. Other key platforms include the PARAS portal for monitoring major infrastructure projects, the Bastar Munne portal for tracking delivery of welfare schemes in Naxal-affected districts and Digital Dwar, which is being developed to enable secure and standardised data exchange among government departments.<\/p>\n
The department also announced major initiatives in artificial intelligence. Under the proposed Chhattisgarh AI Mission (CG-AIM), AI-based skill development, research and innovation will be promoted for students, startups, government officials and entrepreneurs. An AI Centre of Excellence and an AI Data Lab are also being established to support research, innovation and employment generation.<\/p>\n
To promote entrepreneurship, the state has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) to establish four Centres of Entrepreneurship at an investment of \u20b9105.3 crore, shared equally by the Centre and the state government. The centres will focus on Artificial Intelligence, MedTech based on forest and medicinal resources, Smart City technologies and Smart Agriculture.<\/p>\n
The state government is also implementing a Cloud-First Policy to strengthen digital governance through secure cloud infrastructure, improved data protection and efficient utilisation of digital resources.<\/p>\n
Officials noted that several digital initiatives developed by the department, including Aadhaar services, the GIS Project, Atal Monitoring Portal, e-Pragati Portal, Integrated Waste Monitoring and Management System, One Click-Single Window System 2.0 and the Court Case Monitoring System, have received national and state-level recognition.<\/p>\n
Addressing the media, Ankit Anand said the government’s objective is not merely to digitise administrative processes but to make technology the foundation of transparent, accountable and inclusive governance.
