TFP Bureau, Nava Raipur, August 4, 2026: Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Nava Raipur, joined the nationwide \u201cNasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat\u201d campaign by organising an awareness and pledge-taking programme aimed at promoting a drug-free society. The initiative, coordinated by the University’s Legal Aid and Social Services Committee (LSSC), witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and staff.<\/p>\n
The programme formed part of the Government of India’s nationwide campaign to encourage young people to adopt a drug-free lifestyle and contribute towards building a healthier, more aware and empowered nation as the foundation of a developed India.<\/p>\n
The pledge ceremony was held in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the HNLU campus, where participants collectively resolved to uphold healthy values, raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse, promote drug-free living in society, and actively contribute to the vision of \u201cNasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.\u201d<\/p>\n
Addressing the gathering, HNLU Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan said a developed India can only be built on the strength of healthy, informed and empowered youth. He stressed that the fight against substance abuse should go beyond regulation and enforcement and evolve into a movement driven by awareness, personal responsibility and collective social action. He noted that universities have a crucial role in nurturing socially responsible young citizens capable of becoming ambassadors of positive change.<\/p>\n
Reaffirming the University’s commitment to social responsibility, Prof. Vivekanandan said HNLU would continue to sensitise students on issues affecting society while promoting community engagement and nation-building through legal education.<\/p>\n
As part of the campaign, students, faculty members and staff also generated their individual pledge certificates through the MY Bharat application, reinforcing their personal commitment to a drug-free lifestyle.<\/p>\n
The programme was facilitated by HNLU Registrar Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, while Dr. Kaumudhi Challa, Convenor of the Legal Aid and Social Services Committee, delivered the vote of thanks. Student Convenors Ms. Pragati Dhruv and Mr. Prashant Kumar Banjare coordinated the event, ensuring its successful organisation.<\/p>\n
