TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 8,2026: The Chhattisgarh Education Department has finally issued transfer orders for around 700 teachers following an extensive scrutiny of applications and recommendations received from various levels.<\/p>\n
The transfer process had initially included nearly 1,600 names in a preliminary departmental list. Following a review, the list was subsequently reduced to around 1,000 names. During the final round of scrutiny, approximately 400 teachers were excluded after their cases were found not to meet the prescribed criteria.<\/p>\n
Officials said the department gave priority to maintaining uninterrupted academic activities and protecting students’ interests while finalising the transfers. Teachers affected by rationalisation, those serving in single-teacher schools, and cases where a transfer could leave a school without adequate teaching staff were among those reviewed carefully.<\/p>\n
Transfers involving teachers from notified areas to non-notified areas and those posted in schools with high student enrolment were also excluded in cases where the move could adversely affect school functioning.<\/p>\n
The department maintained that no transfer should result in a shortage of teachers or disrupt the education of students. Each case was examined through multiple levels of scrutiny before the final list was approved.<\/p>\n
According to sources, the lists were prepared on the basis of transfer applications and recommendations received from different levels. Nearly 400 names were subsequently removed during the verification and scrutiny process before orders were issued for the remaining teachers.<\/p>\n
With the completion of the present transfer exercise, the Education Department is now considering introducing an online system for future teacher transfers. Discussions are underway on a mechanism through which teachers could submit transfer applications directly through a dedicated online portal.<\/p>\n
The proposed system is expected to make the process more transparent and streamlined by enabling digital submission and verification of documents, online monitoring of applications and faster disposal of requests.<\/p>\n
The department is also examining online transfer mechanisms adopted by other states to assess their technical and administrative feasibility. A final decision on implementing such a system in Chhattisgarh is expected to be taken at the government level.<\/p>\n
