TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 9, 2026: The Adani Foundation has launched its \u2018Vision Care Project\u2019 to strengthen eye care services for senior citizens in rural communities surrounding Adani Power Limited\u2019s Raikheda plant. The initiative aims to provide free eye screenings to around 2,800 elderly residents, along with spectacles to beneficiaries requiring vision correction.<\/p>\n
The project was launched at Chicholi village, where a special eye screening camp was organised for senior citizens. A large number of elderly villagers participated in the camp, where eye specialists conducted examinations, identified vision-related problems and provided necessary medical advice.<\/p>\n
Under the initiative, eye screening camps will be organised in a phased manner across villages located near the Raikheda plant. Senior citizens will be examined for common vision-related problems, and those requiring corrective spectacles will receive them free of cost.<\/p>\n
The initiative is aimed at addressing vision-related difficulties that often affect the daily lives of elderly people in rural areas. Improved vision is expected to help beneficiaries perform routine activities more independently, including reading and carrying out household and other day-to-day tasks.<\/p>\n
Representatives of the Adani Foundation said the project reflects its commitment to improving access to quality healthcare services for rural communities. By taking eye care services closer to beneficiaries, the initiative seeks to reduce barriers to timely screening and treatment, particularly for senior citizens.<\/p>\n
Villagers welcomed the initiative, describing the free eye screening and spectacle distribution programme as a valuable healthcare intervention for the elderly.<\/p>\n
