TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 13, 2025: In a major push to restore peace and bring insurgents back into the social fold, the Chhattisgarh government has announced a new surrender and rehabilitation policy aimed at Naxalites who lay down arms. The policy offers substantial financial incentives, including up to Rs 5 lakh for surrendering with heavy weaponry like Light Machine Guns (LMGs), and Rs 4 lakh for AK-47s or similar assault rifles.<\/p>\n

Under the “Chhattisgarh Naxalite Surrender\/Victim Relief-Rehabilitation Policy 2025”, the government promises not just cash benefits but also education, skill development, and employment opportunities for those who abandon violence and rejoin mainstream society.<\/p>\n

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai described the initiative as a \u201chistoric step\u201d toward peace, development, and social harmony in the state. \u201cThose who give up arms will receive not fear, but respect. This policy opens the door to a new life, especially for youth misled or coerced into joining the Naxal movement,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Detailed Compensation for Weapons Surrendered<\/strong><\/p>\n

The policy includes a detailed compensation chart based on the type of weapons surrendered:<\/p>\n

    Rs 5 lakh for an LMG<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Rs 4 lakh for an AK-47 or Trichy Assault Rifle<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Rs 2.5 lakh for a mortar<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Rs 2 lakh for an SLR or INSAS rifle<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Rs 1.5 lakh for an X95 or MP-9 tactical weapon<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Rs 1 lakh for a .303 rifle<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Rs 75,000 for an X-Caliber<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Rs 40,000 for UBGL attachments<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Rs 30,000 each for 315\/12 bore guns or Glock pistols<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Additional amounts for other small arms including carbines, revolvers, wireless sets, and detonators<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Each surrendered individual, whether or not in possession of weapons, will receive a base incentive of Rs 50,000. Moreover, an additional Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 will be granted for actionable intelligence on hidden IEDs or explosive caches. Informants who help uncover large arms or explosives dumps could receive up to Rs 1 lakh in rewards.<\/p>\n

    Support Beyond Financial Aid<\/strong><\/p>\n

    In a bid to encourage long-term reintegration, the policy also offers a Rs 1 lakh marriage grant for surrendered Naxalites who wish to marry. If both spouses are former Naxalites, they will be considered a single unit for this benefit. Those on the government’s reward list who surrender will receive the full reward amount as per existing rules.<\/p>\n

    Surrendered individuals will also be eligible for rehabilitation schemes offered by the central government. The policy ensures access to education, skill training, and support for self-employment or preferred livelihood options.<\/p>\n

    CM Sai emphasized that violence is not a solution. \u201cOur government will extend every possible support to those who wish to secure a peaceful and productive future.
