TFP Bureau, Ahmedabad, August 28, 2026: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah celebrated Raksha Bandhan in Ahmedabad with girls from his parliamentary constituency who are living with Type-1 diabetes, highlighting the importance of healthcare support and the well-being of children.<\/p>\n

Shah said children with Type-1 diabetes require insulin injections throughout their lives, often placing a significant financial burden on their families. He said the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is providing free insulin for life to children affected by the condition.<\/p>\n

In a post on X, Shah said he had celebrated the festival with the daughters of his parliamentary constituency and described the free-insulin initiative as an expression of the government’s commitment to \u201cService, Compassion, and Security\u201d.<\/p>\n

He extended his Raksha Bandhan greetings to the girls and wished them good health and a bright future.<\/p>\n

Integrated healthcare system for children<\/h3>\n

Under the initiative being implemented in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, children aged up to 18 years living with Type-1 diabetes are being brought under an integrated healthcare system.<\/p>\n

The system covers screening, diagnosis, insulin and treatment, monitoring and follow-up, with the objective of ensuring access to essential insulin and continuous medical support.<\/p>\n

The initiative seeks to provide comprehensive care to children with Type-1 diabetes while reducing the long-term financial burden on their families.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, Shah said public service was not merely a responsibility for the government but a guiding principle of compassionate governance.<\/p>\n

Providing free insulin to children on Raksha Bandhan, he added, carried a special significance as it represented a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of daughters.<\/p>\n
