TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 3, 2026: The Chhattisgarh Water Resources Department has sanctioned \u20b9146.43 crore for 36 projects under various irrigation schemes in the \u2018New Item\u2019 category, with the initiatives aimed at strengthening irrigation infrastructure and expanding water availability for agriculture across the state.<\/p>\n
The sanctioned works include construction and renovation of reservoirs, anicuts and stop dams, as well as upgradation and repair of dams, canals and headworks. Several of the projects are expected to provide irrigation facilities to hundreds of hectares upon completion.<\/p>\n
Among the major approvals, \u20b94.69 crore has been sanctioned for the Kharla Anicut scheme in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, which is expected to provide irrigation to 90 hectares. The Jhirianala Stop Dam scheme, sanctioned at \u20b93.87 crore, will also benefit 90 hectares.<\/p>\n
The department has sanctioned \u20b94.93 crore for canal upgradation and construction of a CC channel under the Khatambar Diversion Scheme, covering 296 hectares. Similarly, \u20b93.38 crore has been approved for canal renovation under the Kodangi Diversion Scheme, benefiting 92 hectares.<\/p>\n
Other major projects in the region include the Kaudia Anicut scheme, sanctioned at \u20b94.51 crore for irrigation of 70 hectares, and the Gudru Diversion Scheme, for which \u20b94.99 crore has been approved for headworks and canal upgradation. The latter is expected to provide irrigation to 179 hectares.<\/p>\n
In Koriya district, \u20b92.20 crore has been sanctioned for dam and canal upgradation at the Salba Reservoir, which will provide irrigation to 59 hectares. Canal upgradation at Champajhar Reservoir has been approved at \u20b91.96 crore, benefiting 61 hectares, while \u20b94.42 crore has been sanctioned for dam and canal upgradation at Murma Reservoir.<\/p>\n
In Surajpur district, \u20b93.89 crore has been approved for renovation of the Kalyanpur Reservoir scheme, providing irrigation to 86 hectares. The Badrikashram Reservoir renovation project has received \u20b94.43 crore for irrigation of 29 hectares, while \u20b94.06 crore has been sanctioned for renovation of the Pasla Reservoir scheme, benefiting 76 hectares.<\/p>\n
The Jamdih Reservoir renovation scheme has received \u20b93.23 crore and is expected to provide irrigation to 61 hectares. The Gangoti Reservoir renovation project has been sanctioned \u20b94.72 crore and will cover 96 hectares. The Dandkarva Anicut scheme, approved at \u20b94.10 crore, will benefit 70 hectares, while \u20b94.71 crore has been sanctioned for the Mayapur-2 Reservoir scheme, covering 100 hectares.<\/p>\n
In Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, \u20b92.68 crore has been sanctioned for construction of the Chargarh Nala Stop Dam, expected to provide irrigation to 45 hectares. The Kameshwarnagar Reservoir-02 renovation project has received \u20b93.91 crore and will cover 215 hectares.<\/p>\n
Another \u20b93.96 crore has been sanctioned for renovation of the Baharchura Dam and canal repairs, benefiting 70 hectares. The Jarhadi Nala Anicut project, approved at \u20b93.06 crore, is expected to provide irrigation to 100 hectares.<\/p>\n
The Alakhdiha Reservoir project has been sanctioned \u20b94.32 crore for irrigation of 130 hectares, while \u20b92.99 crore has been approved for the Bhursatoli Reservoir project, covering 50 hectares.<\/p>\n
In Surguja district, \u20b93.82 crore has been sanctioned for construction of a stop-dam-cum-causeway on Bodar Nala, which will provide irrigation to 80 hectares. The Bakmer stop-dam-cum-causeway has received \u20b94.81 crore and is expected to cover 125 hectares.<\/p>\n
The Chandnai Diversion Scheme has been sanctioned \u20b94.98 crore for renovation, with an expected irrigation coverage of 200 hectares. Another \u20b94.62 crore has been approved for canal renovation under the Kanchanpur Reservoir project, benefiting 150 hectares.<\/p>\n
A diversion scheme at Ledradand-Karovapara has received \u20b94.44 crore and is expected to provide irrigation to 125 hectares.<\/p>\n
The department has also sanctioned \u20b94.96 crore for construction of an anicut on the Mand River at Bhandardand, which will provide irrigation to 100 hectares. The Sarmana anicut project, approved at \u20b94.94 crore, is aimed at improving and expanding irrigation facilities over 125 hectares.<\/p>\n
In Jashpur district, \u20b95 crore has been sanctioned for construction of the Lukhi Reservoir project, which will provide irrigation to 125 hectares. A further \u20b95 crore has been approved for the Harri Reservoir project, also covering 125 hectares.<\/p>\n
The department has sanctioned \u20b94.82 crore for the Payar Pakhna-Sukbasupara Baro Stop Dam project, expected to provide irrigation to 70 hectares.<\/p>\n
Other approvals in Jashpur include \u20b94.60 crore for the headworks of the Tumbajor Diversion Scheme, which will provide irrigation to 415 hectares\u2014the largest irrigation coverage mentioned among the listed projects.<\/p>\n
Alongside irrigation works, the department has sanctioned \u20b94.04 crore for construction of a Chhath Ghat at Gram Panchayat Darakharia and \u20b94.68 crore for construction of the Kunkuri office building and complex.<\/p>\n
Another \u20b91.50 crore has been approved for construction of the Pathalgaon Sub-Division office building and upgradation of four residential buildings under the sub-division.<\/p>\n
The approvals are expected to strengthen irrigation infrastructure, improve the utilisation of available water resources and support agricultural activities across several districts of Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
