TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 11, 2026: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has directed officials to ensure that every eligible family receives its full ration entitlement on time through the Public Distribution System (PDS). He said that families belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), including the Pahadi Korwa community, as well as those living in remote areas, must not face any difficulty in receiving their full entitlement of foodgrains under the PDS. If any negligence or irregularity is detected in ration distribution, responsibility must be fixed and immediate action taken.<\/p>\n
Directing officials to regularly monitor the PDS, Shri Sai said that it is the responsibility of the officials concerned to ensure that foodgrains provided by the government reach the actual beneficiaries in the prescribed quantity and within the stipulated time. He directed officials to maintain additional sensitivity while monitoring the availability and distribution of ration in settlements inhabited by PVTGs.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister took serious note of a complaint that Pahadi Korwa families in Aamanara village of the Dharamjaigarh area in Raigarh district had not received their ration. He spoke to Raigarh Collector Shri Mayank Chaturvedi over the telephone to seek details of the matter and directed him to ensure immediate distribution of ration to all affected eligible families.<\/p>\n
Shri Sai instructed the Collector to properly examine the distribution records related to the complaint and ensure that no eligible family is deprived of its rightful foodgrains. He also directed officials to match the distribution recorded through the e-PoS machine with the foodgrains actually delivered to beneficiaries. Any irregularity found during the verification must result in action against those responsible, in accordance with the prescribed rules.<\/p>\n
Raigarh Collector Shri Mayank Chaturvedi informed Chief Minister Shri Sai that an inquiry was initiated immediately after the complaint was received. The complaint was found to be genuine, following which the concerned ration shop was suspended. To ensure that Pahadi Korwa families and other beneficiaries do not face any disruption in receiving their ration, an alternative arrangement has been made by attaching them to the ration shop at Chidodi.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Shri Sai directed that, along with necessary action in the matter, the district\u2019s PDS must be continuously monitored to prevent any recurrence of such incidents. He stressed that every beneficiary must receive ration on time and in accordance with the prescribed quality standards.<\/p>\n
Shri Sai said\u2014 ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last person in a simple, transparent and time-bound manner is a key priority of the government committed to good governance.
