TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 11, 2026: In a major push to improve child nutrition and expand educational opportunities for youth in the remote areas of Narayanpur, the district administration has launched two key initiatives aimed at strengthening human development and empowering communities.<\/p>\n

The initiatives include a free nutritious breakfast programme for more than 13,000 primary and upper primary school students and a free residential coaching centre for competitive examinations such as the State Public Service Commission (PSC) and Vyapam.<\/p>\n

The programmes were inaugurated by Narayanpur district\u2019s Minister-in-Charge Tank Ram Verma and Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap. The initiatives are expected to address nutritional challenges among children while providing talented youth from economically weaker backgrounds with better access to competitive examination preparation.<\/p>\n

Free nutritious breakfast for 13,015 schoolchildren<\/p>\n

The breakfast programme is being implemented across 476 government schools in the Narayanpur and Orchha (Abujhmad) development blocks, directly benefiting 13,015 students.<\/p>\n

Under the scheme, each student will receive 150 grams of fresh and nutritious breakfast every day. A day-wise menu has been prepared to ensure a balance between taste and nutritional value.<\/p>\n

The menu includes protein-rich and locally familiar foods such as poha with peanuts, semolina upma, daliya, chickpeas, whole green gram and peanuts.<\/p>\n

To strengthen the meal preparation system, 676 cooks in the district are being provided an additional monthly honorarium of \u20b9800. The initiative is expected to encourage regular school attendance, improve student retention and help bring children from remote and forested areas into the mainstream education system.<\/p>\n

During the launch, the ministers personally served breakfast to children and interacted with them. Teachers, students, villagers, public representatives and senior district officials, including the Collector and Superintendent of Police, attended the programme.<\/p>\n

Laddoo scheme launched at Anganwadi centres<\/p>\n

Alongside the school breakfast initiative, a nutritious laddoo distribution programme was launched at Anganwadi centres across the district.<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to strengthen nutritional support for young children and contribute towards eliminating malnutrition. The programme focuses on providing children with additional nutritional supplementation during their early years, when adequate nutrition is critical for healthy physical and cognitive development.<\/p>\n

The simultaneous launch of the school breakfast and Anganwadi nutrition initiatives represents a comprehensive approach to tackling malnutrition among children across different age groups.<\/p>\n

Free residential coaching for PSC and Vyapam aspirants<\/p>\n

In another major initiative, Narayanpur has launched a free residential coaching centre for candidates preparing for PSC and Vyapam examinations.<\/p>\n

The centre has been established by the district administration with funding from the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) for the 2026-27 financial year. The initiative aims to provide meritorious youth from economically weaker backgrounds with access to quality coaching, accommodation and other essential facilities.<\/p>\n

For the first batch, 50 talented candidates \u2014 comprising 26 girls and 24 boys \u2014 have been selected through a transparent selection process.<\/p>\n

The selected candidates were provided bags, notebooks, standard reference books, pens and other study materials during the inauguration ceremony. They will receive free accommodation and meals along with regular classes conducted by subject experts to prepare them for competitive examinations.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The centre is intended to provide students with a conducive learning environment and structured guidance, particularly for those who may otherwise face financial and resource constraints in accessing competitive examination coaching.<\/p>\n

The Assistant Commissioner of the Tribal Development Department has been designated as the implementing agency and will oversee the centre\u2019s operations and quality standards.<\/p>\n

Senior officials, public representatives and students attended the inauguration, including the Municipal Council President, Sarpanch of Chhotedongar, Collector, Superintendent of Police, District Education Officer and Assistant Commissioner.<\/p>\n

Investing in nutrition and aspirations<\/p>\n

The twin initiatives underline the district administration\u2019s focus on strengthening education and human development through interventions covering both childhood nutrition and higher educational aspirations.<\/p>\n

While the breakfast and Anganwadi initiatives seek to improve the health, attendance and educational participation of children, the residential coaching programme is designed to provide talented youth with the resources and guidance needed to pursue careers in public service.<\/p>\n
