TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 27,2026: With several areas affected by flooding and rising water levels in the Mahanadi, the Chhattisgarh administration has intensified relief, rescue and evacuation measures, with Ministers and senior officials visiting affected areas and reviewing arrangements on the ground.<\/p>\n

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap visited the flood-affected areas of Ghotia and Narayanpal in Bastar and took stock of the situation. He reviewed ongoing relief and rescue operations and directed officials to ensure that there was no lapse in arrangements and that the safety and immediate needs of affected residents remained the priority.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kashyap also visited the relief camp at Jagdalpur Town Hall, where he interacted with affected families and enquired about their well-being and requirements. He reviewed arrangements for food, drinking water and essential medicines and instructed officials to ensure that families staying at the camp faced no inconvenience.<\/p>\n

Jagdalpur Mayor Sanjay Pandey was also present during the visit.<\/p>\n

Villagers shifted to safer locations<\/h3>\n

In the Pusaur development block, the administration has stepped up monitoring along the Mahanadi following a rise in water levels. Villagers from Surajgarh and Parsapali, both located along the river, are being shifted to relief camps as a precautionary measure.<\/p>\n

Around 450 residents of Surajgarh are being relocated to the Padigaon relief camp, where arrangements for food and drinking water have been made. A relief camp has also been established at the school building in Chhichhor Umariya for residents affected by flooding in Parsapali.<\/p>\n

The administration is keeping a watch on other villages along the Mahanadi and making preparations for possible flooding. Livestock from affected areas are also being moved to safer locations.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

SDM Mahesh Sharma and officials from the Janpad Panchayat, revenue and Animal Husbandry departments are monitoring the situation and visiting affected areas to assess water levels, damage and relief arrangements. Villagers have been advised to stay away from waterlogged areas and the river and follow instructions issued by the administration.<\/p>\n

Revenue Minister visits affected villages<\/h3>\n

Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma visited Lakhna, Bemta and Balaudikhurd to assess the impact of flooding and meet affected families. He inspected areas affected by floodwaters and heard the concerns of residents.<\/p>\n

Mr. Verma directed officials to ensure uninterrupted supplies of relief material, safe drinking water and medical facilities in the affected areas. He also instructed officials to complete a transparent and prompt assessment of losses to crops, houses and livestock so that eligible compensation and relief could be provided in accordance with the applicable rules.<\/p>\n

In view of the risk of water-borne and other infectious diseases following the flooding, the Minister directed the Health Department to organise special medical camps in affected villages and undertake insecticide spraying.<\/p>\n

The visits and administrative measures come as authorities continue to monitor vulnerable areas and relocate residents where necessary, with emphasis on timely relief, healthcare, essential supplies and the safety of people and livestock.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
