Quality of Festive Season Food Items Monitored by Food Safety Officials
TFP Bureau, Raipur, Nov 2, 2023: In an effort to ensure the quality of food items during the festive season, a state-level flying squad comprising food safety officers from various districts will conduct surprise inspections across all food manufacturing complexes in Chhattisgarh. The initiative aims to monitor production units, ensuring the availability of high-quality food items to the general public.
The Controller of Food and Drug Administration revealed that a joint team conducted surprise inspections in Rajnandgaon and Raipur districts, specifically targeting spices, pulses, and hotel establishments. Samples were collected from these locations to assess the quality of food products. Seizure proceedings were initiated after gathering samples of chocolate from M/s Rajesh Confectionery in Rajnandgaon, garam masala from M/s Amar Shaheed Agro, and lentils from M/s Santosh Dal Mill in Mova, Raipur.
Moreover, a sample of noodles was acquired from a prominent hotel, M/s Ashoka Biryani, for evaluation at the State Food and Drug Testing Laboratory. Once the results are received, further investigations and necessary actions will be taken based on the findings to maintain the standard of food items during the festive season. The goal is to ensure that food products offered to the public meet the expected quality standards.
The surprise checks and sample collections are part of a proactive measure by the food safety officials to guarantee the quality and safety of food items, especially during the festive period when consumption is generally higher
