TFP Bureau, New Delhi; March 14, 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Central Election Committee convened on February 11, 2024, under the leadership of Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, to finalize the party’s candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, and other prominent members of the Central Election Committee participated in the crucial meeting.
Following the release of the first list comprising 195 candidates, the Central Election Committee approved an additional 72 names for contesting in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections of 2024. Among the notable candidates in the second list are several Union Ministers of the government.
Key Candidates in the Second List Include:
Himachal Pradesh (Hamirpur): Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, who currently serves as a Union Minister in the government.
Mumbai North (Maharashtra): Shri Piyush Goyal, representing the constituency of Nagpur, Maharashtra.
Nagpur (Maharashtra): Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, incumbent Union Minister, will contest from Nagpur.
Dharwad (Karnataka): Shri Pralhad Joshi, another Union Minister, will seek re-election from Dharwad.
Additionally, former Chief Minister Shree Jagdish Khattar has been nominated as a candidate from Karnal, Haryana, adding further depth to the party’s candidate lineup.
The finalized list reflects the BJP’s strategic approach and emphasis on fielding experienced leaders to represent diverse constituencies across the country.
